Cheap Sunglasses was $5 right up until the day before, and the lineup for that was way bigger, so I didn't expect this to be so much so fast.
Plus this is Detroit, not Miami, charging that much for a party is just about blasphemy. Is it gonna go up to $25 next? Gonna be $40 at the door or something? lol I understand having a limited amount for cheap and then a price increase after that, but continually raising the price every day = wtf.
but whatever...
ryan crosson, troy pierce, seth troxler, lee curtiss for $5 the same night -- and that's the door price. |

Don't be fuking gay. [promoters not YOU] What wack ass stupid ass promoters raise the prices without notice?
Club space has first 200 tickets for PVD afterhours are $50. Ok, so now I know to get my tix asap. Why couldn't they do that?
Can't believe I have to pay 45 bucks for 2 fuking tickets to party in a hole in ghetto ass detroit. |
I wouldn't go to Troy Pierce if you paid me $5 :p
At the end of the day it's a business just like any other, so it's no one's fault but your own for not striking while the iron was hot. There really aren't all that many tickets left for this (another AMP artist booked the whole party), and people will pay it to get in - so once it's sold out, it really doesn't matter what the door price is, they've made the money they wanted to, just like any other promoter will.
And as far as Oslo being a -hole?
:stongue:
Probably one of the nicest spots in Detroit.
As far as my take on the whole "let's compare DEMF to WMC" business going on here - DEMF makes WMC and Miami look like the kiddie pool sponsored by Abercrombie Kids.
This is the festival where the bulk of people who attend care more about the music than being seen and looking good. ;) |

If by "hot ass" you mean loads of very, very cracked out kids wearing pants with fishing hooks all over them that are made of enough fabric to house a small Vietnamese family, then yes - there will be plenty of it.
:gsmile:
I don't really know how to describe it to people who haven't been there. It's very, very different from WMC. |

Are you familiar with that 311 song "Beautiful Disaster"?
I think that sums DEMF (and the majority of its attendees) up quite well.
:p
Edit: And Mel - you'd best not let me busting your balls over the ticket price stop you from coming out. First drink and shot are on me. ;) |

The prices were not raised at all. It's a 300 person capacity venue. Theres 200 presales. Split into 3 price groupings. Thats not a lot of tickets. After the success of Cheap Sunglasses and the fact that everyone has been saying it was the best party of WMC, I really dunno what is so surprising that this sold out so quick.
Its not like someone is sitting there raising the price for no reason. The tickets are ing selling out. |

Well you're going to that giant poseurfest minus party aren't you?
I'm not crazy about Pierce, but Crosson, Troxler, and Curtiss are great. My point was, there was also a killer lineup there but it's cheap as , Detroit style. I've been to both DEMF and WMC before and I wasn't trying to make a comparison between them, other than that tickets in Detroit should always be way cheaper because WMC is overpriced as and people expect it to be. Instead it seems to be the other way around with this party, which makes no sense.
That being said, $20 still isn't bad considering the lineup, I just think the way it was priced and promoted should've been handled differently. Don't understand why presales need to be split into THREE different price groupings... save that for ticketmaster bs shows. |
