your rankings do not work because 2 teams from the same division are 2 and 3. the top 3 are division champ seeds regardless of points.

in both conferences.

Geez, my brain is still set on NFL,.. explains how the Caps finished so high last year. Well, I'll repost later and keep Toronto right where they are :p
Spin Laden
speaking of division seedings, the NHL is re-considering giving those division winners automatic seedings, they may turn to a points-related system instead.

Here's the vintage jerseys that the team will be wearing at certain games this year.

elFreak
any pics of the rest of them?

@spin

it would be awesome if they went to a pure points system.

I think the following teams may have break-through years this season: Tampa Bay, Boston, Chicago, Phoenix.

For TB with Stamkos, Meszaros, Roberts, Ryan Malone, they've definitely improved. In Chicago, with Kane and Towes, along with Huet and Campbell on D, I think they'll be a lot better. With PHX, the young blood and minor tweaks they've done in the off-season SHOULD pay off for them; plus they actually have a goalie in Bryzgalov. Boston is a dark-horse; Bergeron back, Fernandez back, Ryder maybe playing well again?

I think the following teams will drop-off: Ottawa, Rangers, Nashville, Vancouver

Ottawa lost a lot of guys, though their top 3 are still intact. Rangers are still have some overpriced talent (gomez, drury, redden) and have lost Jagr. Vancouver, without Luongo, they're nothing + better hope the Sedins can carry the load with Naslund/Morrison gone.

ALL speculation at this point!!
