Did I read correctly that "the more people that request refunds, make it harder for minitek to try and put this event on again next year ??".... Suck it up guys and dont make the customer feel guilty about demanding their money back just to lessen your financial blow..

This is what I was saying to ppl I talked to over the weekend, it's easy to bitch and moan when you have no idea what it's like to throw an event, even at a small venue (which, BTW, the minimoo crew does quite well). They had to try something that everybody was asking for but just didn't have the balls to do and even some were ting all over it.
There were some things, however, that I do not agree with, like being unable to handle small tasks because they were too ed up, never minding the fact that they were the organisers. At least get your together and have a (somewhat) clear head. The lack of communication also has no excuse, but the weekend is now over and I hope this happens again next year, I would love for this to become our own festival that we don't have to leave the city for.
And if Made Events takes on Minitek, I won't go. Not planning to pay 250 bucks for a weekend pass.

Ok, first let me say I don't go out that often......
The music was absolutely steller on Sunday(the only day I participated in). The vibes were good, I had some good people with me..
What totally sucked, no fancy lights or exhibits, call me gullible but I was expecting something like the Vakant+dumb unit party's at the Watergate in Berlin, with amazing lights, visuals, and computer generated art. I saw nothing, there was no organization. Music can only go so far at this point in my life, I need the whole package, lights, people, quality etc...

Well your first mistake there was expecting anything remotely like a Berlin techno party in the US.
I too was pretty disappointed at the complete lack of any of the art or innovation installations or displays that were advertised. I heard there were some at Penn plaza, which I was never able to get into but... yeah... Just another aspect that could've probably been left out of the festival entirely until it gets built up more over time.

Having seen this coming from Years of Expierence with WMC and in the NY scene. I had a LAUGH...... Not going to make this Long but ECO's statements are totally on point..... Organize the right venues and the right afterpartys. This is NYC right after 9/11, you think a bunch of people in Coney Island with NO LIGHTS, NO ID Checking NO Organization was going to work smoothly. I am surprised no one tried to start a Fire like woodstock
I was there Saturday and I know from the artists who were suppose to play the Second stage (Not naming Names) that the organizers never paid the sound people so they held out till 6:30 to hook it up. PLUS The headliners of the second stage still havent gotten PAID......
Nice representation of the NYC Scene, I feel like someone in Miami organized this Festival......
One last point, Do you Know how much Money was probably stolen. If i was a prick I could have walked out with 5 brand new Technics!!!!! and a allen heath mixer...
