I wasn't there but, first of all how do you know they are TA's...and second of all, way to go insulting Tranceaddicts. I guess you were too stupid to realize you are one of them too haha
And how specific...would you like to mention some names here..? The asian guy....yes, we really only have ONE now do we? |
and the award for most incredulous (cracked out) statement goes to...
:haha: :haha: :haha: :haha:
well doesnt sound like someone worth meeting in person anyway...so no big loss there. |

however, there MUST be must be some CRAZY regulations/permits standing in the way of obtaining permits for that type of event there...otherwise im sure ULTRA NYC would have been structured that way a long time ago. im still very very disappointed that ULTRA NYC became the typical 6-10pm event when in Miami its (now a 2 day spectacular) from 10am till midnight. |
Yeah, there's gotta be a few hurdles to jump, I'm sure, to make something like that happen, that I or no one on this board probably know about... However, a year or two ago there was like a one-day Japanese music and art festival there which was free for all, had music and concerts and was from morning until night for like 12 hours... I don't know the specifics, but that made me think about it as an example :p |

Nah it was a hypothetical :p I said that there could have been a Summerstage (Central Park) event for 12 hours, then different headliner(s) dispersed throughout each different venue in Manhattan, with bracelets accepted at each venue. That was just a "what-if" list of lineups and venues :p |

Also want to say that Madga played the worst most boring set I've ever heard in my entire life. that dyke bitch. And all the other d followed suit. So instead of getting to see the boss kings Pan-Pot I had to suffer through Magda, House, and Gaymat:B before I realized they were cutting off the only good DJs of the night. that puta!
Magda isn't even worth of eating Camea's for breakfast.
Oh yea saw a lot of you TAs, the asian guy, the headband jew fro, the italian broad, but I guess the stereotype about TA virgins/dorks is true because I never felt compelled for one minute to even walk up and say hi. Learn how to dance without looking like a car driving down a street with a bunch of potholes first. |
Pan Pot played one of the most boring sets I've ever heard last friday here in LA.
Magda set from a week ago all over the monotonous techno they spewed for hours. It wasn't bad but it was boring as hell.
Also, LA's fake and glitzy crowd is primarily resigned to mega clubs and music, if you like underground techno and small parties it is doubtful you'll run into a crowd any different than NY or SF... |

I think we're jumping the gun saying New York doesn't have a music scene as good as L.A.'s because of a failed attempt at a music festival lol. My friends in L.A. are as much beat addicts as we are and they said, unless there's a big bi-monthly rave/festival to go to, there ain't to do on a regular weekend but go to a lounge... |
Do your friends not read message boards? :wtf:
The big bi-monthly raves/festivals are probably the lowest thing on my list re: going out options in LA... |

Finally I'll have to add that given the line-ups I've seen for New York over the past few years, the place def has a solid underground and grass roots techno following, I met lots of New Yorkers in Detroit and I know you get some great smaller talent from Europe and fresh names on an almost weekly basis. Also NY can boast more labels and artists than almost any other city in the country.
It looks like minitek failed from a purely logistical standpoint, the demand is there... |

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm saying...

To the New Yorkers saying the music scene in New York is falling off, check out that ^^^^ thread... Very few places in the world get to say they have choices like that on a weekly basis... Keep in mind that's a condensed list of artists TAs are inclined to go see, and not even listing the dozens of other events out there per day. |

I'd like to see a pic of the douchebag talking crap about how TA's look.
I don't base my friendships on how hot a person is.. I mostly love the TA's because they are the only ones in the club not becoming best friends with the speakers, not dressing up with fairy wings/candy kids, and I can *actually* chat with them about what song is on or what dj's are good.
I'm glad I didn't waste my time. Honestly after my first DEMF being awesome... I am looking forward to that more than anything else. |
