I went out and purchased my first wardrobe full of "work clothes" the other night and honestly felt like I had Patrick Bateman's inner monologue running through my head the whole time.
Very strange to have gone from buying nothing but sandals and t-shirts for basically my whole life to linen dress pants, nice shirts, ties, and black dress shoes.
:wtf: |
Funny, I'm kinda the opposite now: I'm so happy about my jerbs, fashion wise... I can now have my piercings back AND make a living, w00t! :D |

Where do you work now? |
For a company that does contract work for several major electronic products for all sorts of different applications (for example, everything from iPods to military equipment) doing EHS-MS (Environmental Health & Safety Management Service) as well as sustainable development consulting for three of their sites.
Basically I:
- Try to create "zero waste to landfill" manufacturing facilities.
- Audit sites for compliance with local, state, federal, and internal environmental standards for manufacturing.
- Keep up on developing legislature with regard to EHS-MS manufacturing standards in each of the countries we operate in.
The position isn't technically begun until October 1, however, so I've been in a bit of a period of limbo the past few weeks (since I committed to taking the job but have yet to start it). |

It is quite literally a "sky is the limit" kind of situation - massive room for growth within the company, and one that is doing quite well independent of the rough economy right now.
At the moment, the company I'll be with has locations throughout Asia, in dozens of cities in North America, as well as Scotland - all of which are potential sites to be re-assigned to each year. Beyond that, they're purchasing their first two sites in Eastern Europe (probably Poland and the Czech Republic) in FY2009.
So yeah - tons of opportunities for travel and advancement. I'm definitely cautiously optimistic right now. :) |

I'm not sure if that's one of them we'd be doing anything for, but the nice thing is that from my end, I'd be dealing with 1, to maybe 2 or 3 projects per year, max. So at the very least I'd only have one other major corporate entity to deal with on each.
Though I guess if even one proved to be terrible and you had to spend a year or two on it, it could get ugly... :nervous:
Ah well. I'm excited, hoping it's a good fit. |

:wtf: That's scandelous as ! I used to dread like that happening to me with a buddy when I was younger.... if she was more into me than I was to her, and maybe she wanted more... I was afraid she'd do something like that to keep me around. Does he know you did that??? if so, how are you still alive??? |
