| i have had excellent times at both venues. When I started going to events in Hollywood I went to Avalon and then, once Giant moved to Vanguard I predominantly went there. i have seen awesome performances at both, however lately, Giant is lacking the acts (except Digweed) that make me want to come out. Avalon has shown diversity and forward thinking when booking their talent. Their talent may not be well known here, but they are huge overseas. I think that Vanguard is kind of stuck in the past and its starting to show. Having said that, I like the space at Vanguard a lot more and the outdoor area is awesome, especially when compared to Avalon. Sound also is better at Vanguard. |

| i love the vanguard!! been to avalon only twice and i think its crap! the venue sucks and so does the crowd. as a smoker i appreciate a nice patio and Vanguard has a great outdoor area, avalon has a hole alley. the crowd is better and i have no complaints with the venue layout. |
