I disagree, the chick has meth scares on her face...nothing to get all wet about...I'd post a pic of my lady, but i don't wanna make people jealous.

And Circus seems to be making a comeback.. I dislike both venues.. one too small and the other like someone mentioned, OC Guido crowd, along with the Ara's (some know who i'm talking about) ;) I like dancing with enough room to not start with the guy next to me..and not having to pay varied prices on drinks like at Vanguard..

I went to Avalon for the first time a few weeks back when Sander was supposed to spin. I hadn't been in about a year. The place has gone downhill since I had been last.

I will never go again.... had a terrible time. The fact that they shut down the terrace is was deal breaker. The crowd was worse then I remembered, washing machines all over the place. Had an altercation with some guy on the dance floor who didn't know what planet he was on.

The venue looks completely run down. They didn't even bother throwing up some decorations. It looked like a straight-after hours place.

I just wish EDM was more main stream in southern CA, so that decent clubs could have this type of music. I prefer the scene in SF, Ruby Skye and Supperclub are definitely a step up from anything we have in So CA.

This is just my experience. If anyone has any suggestions for other venues I may be missing out on, I am all ears ;)

All 3 super clubs are . All need to make some improvements.

Avalon:

Cons:
- hairy sweaty Middle easterners/Armenians who like to take off their shirt after a while
- drugged out Asians/FOBS sitting in the middle of the dance floor
- high ticket price especially in this economy
- 20/1 male/female ratio
- foul smell by 2AM

Pros:
- none

i agree about the two clubs above.

I like both clubs for their different reasons. Nobody should have to decide on one, just be happy we have such great options.

And circus does deserve to be in the discussions, as i have had many many more great nights out at circus then the other two combined. Yes the infrastructure is outdated and needs to be revamped, but infrastructure isnt the sole reason we go clubbing either is it.

As far as the venues themselves, i like vangard most. Its got the better sound system, and just feels nicer overall. I think they book talent that i am into more frequently then any other club, but still is lacking any forward thinking bookings.

However all have their downsides. With that said i think circus has the most potential to be what i desire most in a club.

Definitely Vanguard.

Avalon is full of posers and muscle heads and the sound is awful.

have you been at vanguards patio? isnt too great too and i think I even heard the DJ play something like britney or michael jackson while ferry while playing inside...

but still patio is nice at vanguard...

yah, circus with nikita will improve...

ssshhhh about king king, its an industry secret...haha! nah, the smaller clubs like that just try harder (CS wise) and just arent that mass marketed so the so called undesirables dont go there yet...

:tongue3
