1. Have I once in this thread given my opinion as to whether or not I even like the club?

2. :haha:

edit

the argument here has nothing to do with drugs....it has to do with somebody saying they don't want something in their neighbourhood because some clients that come in do bad things.

shut down the whole city....people do bad things everywhere.

I bet there is more drugs in my office building at this very moment then what the police found on the floor of the CZ the other day.

no they are saying they dont want business being run that are knowingly... and potentially even pushing illigal activities.

defintly not the same thing as people doing stupid things int he middle of the road or wathever.

the point here is that CZ allows for an area of law breaking. which laws get broken ( whether they are drug related or not) is not an important question, because only the fact that they break the laws is enough for the closure of their business to be shut down.

if you want to argue wheather drug use in the seen is too much or not, or if drugs are bad for you or not, different questions, either way they are illigal right now, and until we change those laws, we have to respect the fact that ALL business must follow ALL the laws, and we cant simply call those laws stupid or immmoral or whatever because we have some sort of personal attachment too business;s that break those laws.

well considering you work for a big company that most liekly has extensive rules and regulations about this sort of thing, if hit the fan in your company im sure someone would have to take the blame for it, and it would most liekly be the drug users taking the fall, and if they got away with it, the managers who let them get away with it would get fired.

compare that to the comfort zone which pays off the police so that they can allow these rules to be broken.

there is such a huge difference between the situations even though youve made them appear to be equal. in one case it is the individuals who are breaking the laws, in the other case it is the business that is breaking the laws

At least these people have somewhere somewhat safe to go. This is just going to drive the afterhours more underground, in totally illegal warehouses, etc where there is less security. Less security means less help when it comes to an overdose, or a fight, or a fire hazard, etc.

Not good.

First of all, many people have already gone back to partying in abandoned warehouses partially due to the lack of venues in Toronto. But I have to say that personally, I usually feel safer in a sketchy warehouse party than a sketchy club party. It's a completely different crowd and strangers do try to look out for strangers (although most people tend to know each other anyhow).

Less security?... well nine times out of ten there's actually no security (and no ems for that matter). With that said, the DIY spirit usually attracts at least a few responsible individuals. I went to one party where a girl may have been ODing. So, the party was temporarily shut down while some individuals (and party organizers) called 911 and took the girl to ems on the street nearby. After the coast was clear, the party continued.

At these kinds of parties responsible people are generally just fine. I haven't seen a fight or even rude pushy people like at clubs. Though I've never been to CZ I've heard of some pretty bad things going down there there including a complete disregard for human life (please prove me wrong). Is there really an "OD room"?

But I'll give you fire hazards...considering I've seen fire poi inside abandoned buildings lol
