Those of You That Still Have A Job (pg. 3)

I was about to make a thread about jobs. I'm quitting mine tomorrow. It rained today and I was going to call in sick. But I need to at least finish my route and then I will call up my supervisor and let him know that I've lost interest in the job, there won't be any 2 weeks notice, today's my last day. Whatever. that boring job.

my office just laid off a few people yesterday, and certainly not staff I expected to get cut. One with a young kid, wife not yet back at work. Our uk office is even worse, they are putting out a shortlist of contenders for the axe on monday, and will announce the final list before the end of the year. I'm sure those who survive off that list will feel great about how the company values them,

as for bonuses, not exactly a bonus, but part of the pay contract is performance based. Last two years this company has been 5 and 4 months late in paying that, so expect they'll avoid it as much as possible. Already told them I'm not submitting timesheets for invoicing next year until I get paid for this ear.

Our bonus is tied to company profits. profits are down so obviously no bonus. Surprisingly they are still giving cost of living increases. :)

Our holiday party was scaled down, but we still got gifts.

If it snows on Christmas then i will get a bonus.

The residents all contribute to a fund every year for us, and that's where our Christmas bonus comes from.

Work in behavioral health, our idea of bonuses are work sponsored pizza parties (seriously) once a year. We are in a hiring freeze, and instead of paying nothing for insurance we have to pay $80 month now starting in january, and no merit increases over 3 percent. Sucks, but the word lay-off has never been uttered. I appreciate what I got, could be so much worse.

4% in January and then 27% in March. Pays to work for the man.

Are you still getting your Christmas/Yearly Bonus? How about a raise? I'm still getting my Christmas bonus, but I know quite a few who are not getting any bonuses or raises this year. That to me seems to point at poor management. IMO, taking care of your employees is paramount for a company to be successful, and not even giving your loyal workers even a $200 bonus seems downright ty. This money should have been set aside many months ago, and frankly there should be no excuses for not having it.

5K bonus. not for christmas, but the end of our fiscal year (october). Alot of my friends had their bonuses cut in half. They went from about 30K to 17K. It's not pretty. Even worse is when 20 ivy league educated co-workers are getting axed. when ivy leaguers can't keep their jobs you're ed!
