I got flamed for saying, "I know I've made it when I'm making $1000/hr." You make more than that. ing idiots. |

I have to to a full assessment of the corporate HQ building of a grocery store chain... they're going through a reconstruction phase and have uncovered all sorts of issues with their mechanical systems and with the way the building was constructed overall, and need a plan put together on how to fix it, otherwise the employees that work in there will be exposed to some toxic chemicals. |

I wish it was like that every day in the Charlotte office, but it's not really... most of the projects I do are between $1000-$2000, and I probably do 4 or 5 per week. Once a month I get the big ones which are nice. I'd rather to 5 big ones each month and forget about the small ones. But I work on about 72% profit margin, which is how I make out so well. Remember, it's how much money you keep, not how much you make. |

LOL most of the people there weren't tree hugging hippies. They did waste removal/cleanup, mold abatement, water treatment and some other . They also do transportation engineering for freeways, bridges, etc. The company is just run like . |

i think i remember you saying that you own your own business, right?
13K - 1.5K [direct cost] = 11.5K
11.5K * (30% [federal Tax Rate] + 15% [self employment tax] + 5% [est state tax] = 50% [approx taxes]) = 5.75K
don't forget to subtract your general overhead costs. your take home is more likely 3-4K. still not a bad take for 6 hours ;) |
