Reread my ing post. I said, "I know I've made it when I'm making $1000/hr."

not quite ivy league, but pretty close.

your contempt (or jealousy) seriously missed the point. i'll lay it out for you though. if a harvard educated person is getting fired, and that harvard educated person is much more highly sought after than you, then you will have a difficult time competing with that harvard educated person for the desirable jobs still vacant. although, from your post i doubt you will be applying for the same positions. ivy leaguers don't apply to TGI fridays too regularly.

Thanks for your concern. Do Ivy Leaguers still hold their regular Thursday meetings to dance in front of mirrors and suck each other off?

Lol, suck each other off.

Hell no. I'm a home school teacher/tutor for middle and high school level courses. I also work a minimum wage internship for an institutional investment company. And full time student.

No raise for me though... though our bonus is banked on a quarterly basis based on profit and other criteria. So we had a decent year too, but no raises.

They also asked us to volunteer to work 4 days a week at 4/5th pay because they can't afford to let go of the staff and their knowledge with them... I did volunteer to do that but just for the summer though.

we just had a holiday luncheon with roasted chicken, red potatoes, green beans, salad, and cookies.

that's the extent of what we're getting this year. but i'm happy i have a job. a job i love, no less. so i really can't complain.

Moral Hazard
I just gave one of my employees a 12.5% raise and agreed to pay for her classes to earn a second BA (part time studies)... She's worth every penny of it.

I just got a 9% raise.

Bonuses for my office will be calculated in January; however, they will be paid according to the same formula we've always used.

It's safe to say the economy hasn't really effected compensation at my office.
