| I'm getting a raise from $11/hr to $12/hr. I'm happy about that. |

5K bonus. not for christmas, but the end of our fiscal year (october). Alot of my friends had their bonuses cut in half. They went from about 30K to 17K. It's not pretty. Even worse is when 20 ivy league educated co-workers are getting axed. when ivy leaguers can't keep their jobs you're ed! |

i have a friend getting married this spring who planned on paying for the majority of her wedding with her bonus and her fiancee's bonus. luckily she's in anti-money laundering and doing well but he is at goldman who i see had an exceptionally poor 4th quarter... |

not quite ivy league, but pretty close.
your contempt (or jealousy) seriously missed the point. i'll lay it out for you though. if a harvard educated person is getting fired, and that harvard educated person is much more highly sought after than you, then you will have a difficult time competing with that harvard educated person for the desirable jobs still vacant. although, from your post i doubt you will be applying for the same positions. ivy leaguers don't apply to TGI fridays too regularly. |

Are you sure it isn't a raise from $11/hour to $1000/hour like you said you'd be guaranteed with your degree? |
