I LOVED... LOVED Armin's set. All the tracks he pretty much played where great the singers fitted in perfectly. The count down was the best new years eve count down I have seen in years!!!!!

What was the artist VIP area? is that the same place as the room with chairs and tables and the open bar. How long did it take to get to the Artist VIP area? |

Opposite side as regular VIP. As you face the stage, to the right of the stage. Wasn't open to general VIP. Pretty much all industry people. |

Totally agree with you...was one of THE best nights ever. Armin totally threw down! As I was driving to work this morning, was listening to the track Cygnes and got a little depressed cause I wish I was still at TAO. Man, can't believe the night went by so quickly...good times, good times...:) |

Was it for the cabanas and such? Not that I would have wanted to be seen that night in all my glory haha |

There were cabanas in both VIP areas. Not sure if the ones to the right of the stage were available to the public. No one was in them for the most part. Think they were for the talent etc only. |

After being sick as a dog the last 5 days, I finally dragged my butt to work and computer for a little while....
I expected to be pretty bored at TAO but maybe that's exactly why I actually had fun! :D I even liked Armin's set after all the guest artists were gone, which suprised me. Armin played quite different than last year at Giant Village: more classics and "harder" tracks.
Getting in was a total nightmare. First we waited in the guestlist line which should've taken only 5 minutes but took 30 mins instead and then we waited at least 45 mins in the chaos called VIP entrance. For some reason, they were letting only people with wristbands in but most people just had the vip tickets so we had to push through the mass to show our wristbands to security. Everybody in line was really pissed off because of the wait and I don't blame them! Once inside, I was so glad to find a coatcheck!
We hung out in the VIP area 99% of the night because there was so much space, free drinks and we could dance next to the stage without anybody pushing and shoving. I stopped by the artist VIP side to say hi to some people but it wasn't any different from the other VIP side so I went back to where I could hang out with more friends and have more fun! Only crappy moment was when security decided not to let anybody into the "dance" area of vip (next to the stage) anymore and people were stuck in the back but it didn't last long. Who knows why they made that decision in the first place :rolleyes: And one thing I saw was a bit disturbing: two guys were really f*ed up on drugs and they decided one would kick the other one on the face, twice, just for fun! :nervous:
And I agree: the go-go dancers sucked ass.
Banora: Danes sound exactly like Finns! :tongue2 I was over-dressed too at TAO with black top and slacks and white tie but I didn't wanna look like everyone else. I think I was the only girl with a tie on, lol. And if you only knew how many married djs and djs with gfs cheat or try to cheat with all the groupies on the road.... :p

When I went around the first would not let us... they asked me if I was a performer ( had a cute little cheerleader skirt, armin shirt and go-go boots on) So I said yes!!! Then got the whole you can not escort blah blah blah thing.. but after a few bats of the eye... on of the guards said "just let her in" SWEET!
And I agree as well.. those Go-go dancers SUCKED!!! GAG!! Think the girls on TA could have done SOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER!!!!!!!!! Liked their outfits though. :D |
