Not really... I got in at 8am, my hotel was ready about five hours early so I dropped my stuff off and got on the train. I stopped at every station heading north and walked around, though I didn't see very much.

I'm surprised some parts of Hollywood are (I'm sorry if this offends) but rather ghetto, especially around the train stations! I walked up and down Sunset for a little bit, but I couldn't find any famous landmarks (besides Capital). I did walk by Avalon, and I tried to look inside the open door, but some bouncer yelled at me and I ran off.

I went up to North Hollywood but couldn't see anything, just a lot of houses but it was really pretty up there. Then I went down to Long Beach and walked around for a bit.

Besides that, I did nothing!

HAHAHAHAHA Most of HOLLYWOOD is GHETTO!!!! Hahahaha It's just that that's where all they hype is, but it's GHETTO! I would not like to live there. Plus parking is a bitch. Downtown Long Beach is cool. There's tons of clubs there too. Plus you got the aquarium, the queen mary, and the beach! hehe

I gotta give you props though. You have balls for walking around the ghetto not knowing where you were and not knowing anyone here! Some parts of LA are not safe. Specially around the Sports Arena!

I didn't feel unsafe anywhere I went. I was a little weary when I got off the train on the super ghetto Hollywood and Western so I quickly walked back to the station. I wanted to find Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive and what not to just look, but I couldn't. I googled it and it was much further than where the train lets you off; not to mention I was in heels and they were starting to hurt after hours of walking.

I walked around downtown a lot as well (a little past 7th and Figueroa). It wasn't very bad at all, but the downtown is so dead, it was a little disappointing. The bums weren't very bad at all, if you just say 'no' as you walk by they would leave you alone (and I had my headphones on).

I will! Next time I'll buy my ticket much earlier so I won't spend so much, else I would have stayed longer. But I also didn't have anyone to have fun with, so it would have been a little lonely, then I would have shopped and spent money I didn't have.

Awwww.. Next time if you come by yourself, I'm pretty sure you won't have trouble making new TA Friends. Most of us LATA's are pretty friendly, and we know each other on a personal level outside this board. I'm sure one of us can show you around next time. Just ask!

I had such a great time. Love living in LA. Got to see one of my favorite DJs for 9 hours and Armin rocked it especially when the curtain dropped. The live performances were great and well executed. Visuals were amazing. Sound from the floor was much better than last year. I still wonder when they are going to figure out that they need some fill speakers up front so the bass bins don't over power the music. Some small speakers in the VIP dance areas and backstage would help to. I've seen this done at other events and its really effective. It was major packed on the floor as expected and Michelle and I could only stand it for about an hour or so. Just got the crap beat out of us. I have a bunch of pics and videos I'll try to post soon.

My only complaint about the night was the $40 parking. I mean really, wtf :wtf:

So, I got there at about 6:30...I had to drive up to LA from San Diego after work. Armin's set was scheduled to start at 7. It was the longest line I've ever seen. Ever.

We got in at about 8, and the place was PACKED. Wall to wall, bumping into people, and just trying to make your way. I sat up in the stadium seating for a while, then finally found how to get down to the dance floor. Armin was behind a curtain for the first part of the set, so you could only see his shadow. He did his pose, holding the headphones above his head and everybody went nuts! Then a singer came on stage for the next track to do the vocals, and pointed the microphone at the crowd so they could sing the words, but no one new them, or everyone was too ed up to care...LOL.

There were lots of people doing "light shows", with glow sticks and rings for people who were rollin'...so I just kept inching my way forward to get as close to Armin as possible...I eventually got up to the front near midnight, I was about fifteen feet away from him...it was amazing. There were camera crews filming everything, including two chicks hanging of the podium with a bottle of champagne, totally making out, all over each other, haha! If he comes out with a DVD for this Armin only like he usually does, I'm the guy up in the front with the bright yellow shirt on doing the "Fly away" pose! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I think everyone around me was rollin'...people with eyes like saucers...everyone was just so happy, it brought tears to my eyes. I can't even describe it...it was like being in a room with 50,000 of your best friends...hugging and kissing complete strangers, everybody packed in tight and just sharing it together...

Then midnight came. There was a massive countdown, 50,000 people all in unison...then BAM! It was midnight, and the place EXPLODED. He played Ferry Corsten - Radio Crash, then some other track (sorry...I forgot what it was, I was a little messed up ) Smoke and confetti exploded, and everyone was sweaty from dancing and being packed in so tight, the confetti stuck to us, but we didn't care. Everybody was holding hands, and pumping fists in the air, just completely lost in the moment, it didn't matter if it was a guy or a girl, nobody was judging anybody...everyone was your best friend.

Armin kept spinning until about 4am, playing lots of awesome tracks. The early part of the set was soft, with lots of vocal tracks. The second half was pumping bass, and there were live guitars. I thought we were gonna faint, we were all panting and sweating like crazy, each track pushing us higher and higher. The ones I remember most were Thomas Bronzwaer - Certitude, a remix of a Nirvana track, and Armin playing his track "Imagine"...we all just kept jamming...it was so amazing...I never wanted it to end...

Finally we had to leave...I almost broke down, I didn't want to go, but we all piled out. There were cops there shining lights in peoples faces (s...it's a rave, of course people are going to be ed up) and ambulances...some people had to be taken to the hospital. I hope they're okay...they're all my brothers and sisters...

So, I haven't slept in forever, but I'm still to pumped up to care! The rest of my life seems kind of dull now, especially that I have to go to work tomorrow....heheh.

Happy New Year !!!!!!!!
