Looks as though most people have said what i would suggest some great advice. So I wont re-iterate. Just hope you take it all on board and look at things from a different perspective. Good one on the new track hope it helps you find your feet.

dJ Robby Rox, what exactly do you think you're doing wrong?
Anyways, maybe it might be helpful to those who want to help you to see what your thought process is when making a song.
If you're stuck, I suggest doing a remix or cover (remix is funner because you add a little bit of you to it, but i think making a straight up cover or having the remix sound more like the original will help you learn more) from scratch. You can learn a lot from doing remixes. That has certainly helpped me out. |

i listened your song, all i have to say is make it more simple , pick good sounds and make GOOD arrangement! That is important. Also take time to learn mixing. |

Dude, i have listened to your track, and your thread really got me, its not that bad at all, honestly, but you have to be first of all honest to yourself, and most of all think positive,
heres my advice, it all depends whether you want to get and its just a matter of time/dream, what i mean is the more time you spend in the studio the more better youll get, and i dont mean how many years youve been into music production, i mean just set a schedule, for instance practice 5 hours a day everyday, with a current production and stick with it, till you are really really happy with the results, dont just make music for the sake of it.
Forget all the myspace, facebook, forums, just sit down on your pc/mac with a notebook, and start write it down your ideas, you said, inspiration dosent guarantee succes, well maybe you could learn to focus your inspiration, go out find a place where you could be on your own, and again write down your ideas, how do you want to sound your song?, what elements do you want ?, ill strong recommend to find out what elements do you like on your favorite tunes, cause that would give you some sort of direction.
Remember, succes it is not measure of how many people know you, or how many contacts do you have on your myspace, its about getting proud of yourself for what you feel pasionate about, cause at the end of the day, we are all on our own and we have to learn to communicate to our innervoice.
I believe everyone its talented in their own way, but the hardest part its to find how do we express through (in this case) music.
This may sound a lil off-topic, but the one guy that i admire of all is chris gardner (read the book, is way better than the movie, if you have not), is a true example of everything is possible, just set your mind to, and for SAKE, believe in yourself :)
hope ive been helpfull, and id like to hear from you soon |

How about this.
Don't make Trance, make what you like, then decide what it is. If you have in your mind "i'm going to make what sounds good" and not "i'm going to make trance" or "i'm going to make dnb"..then you will be more satisfied with what you have done. If you really think you want to make trance, but your songs come out sounding like house...then you don't really want to make trance, you want to make house. |

Not everyone is cut out to be a musician. Unfortunately, the DJ Hero generation won't ever grasp that concept, and the ty music will continue to flow. |
