It would be pretty sweet to have a second pair haha, it'll do the job for now though |

I'd also look at the dave smith stuff if you want an analogue synth. Voyager is overpriced IMO. Otherwise, a Virus or Nord lead is always reliable and awesome.

I definitely agree. As the owner of a Voyager RME, as well as many Dave Smith synths (Prophet 08, Mono Evolver Keyboard, Poly Evolver Rack, Mopho), a Polar TI, and a guy who has owned several Nord Leads, the Voyager is the absolute last one I'd recommend if it's going to be your only hardware synth.
edit: I mean, unless of course you're interested in buying mine, in which case it's by far the best synth you could ever hope to own. ;) |

ahhh lol dont confuse me again.. well im really looking for that john dahlback bassline, the deadmau5 slip little bass hits, also the mau5 and inpetto sound. and i've heard most of those come from the voyager
dont get me wrong i could prob come close with some of my soft synths but i want the original big sound if that all makes sense? |

Like I said earlier, too many different opinions are not a good thing. If was you, I'd try to go find a store with Voyager, a Prophet 08, a Virus TI, etc. and spend many hours turning knobs before throwing my money away.
At the very least, whatever synth you buy, I recommend trying to find a pre-owned one priced at or below the going market rate. That way, you can resell it at no net loss should you decide to buy something else - kinda like a free rental. Or, buy it new from a place with a liberal return policy (e.g., Guitar Center). |

You need to move things around in your room... The way you have it set up at the moment is not very good.
First, move your desk so that your speakers are firing down the LENGTH of your room.
Second, get your speakers off your desk. Buy a stand which can be sand loaded.
Third, position them properly - for large speakers like that, I would say about 120cm tweeter-to-tweeter and 120cm from the listening position. Have your ear roughly halfway between the woofer and the tweeter.
LASTLY... Buy a load of basstrapping. Your room is very small, so you will definitely have bass problems. After that, buy some absorption panels and put them either side of your listening position. Your speakers are rear ported, so you might need some absorption behind them too. |

so what do you mean by firing down the length of your room i dont get it
and how about just putting those foam pads under the speakers?
and you lost me at the whole 'buy some absorptions panels and put them....need some absorption behind them too." part i need to put absorption panels right behind the speakers and behind where im sitting?
thanks |

Hang on there - Need to also know a few more things:
1, What are you using the room for? (composing, mixing, recording, all of these, a combination of these?)
2, What are the materials of the room? (drywall, brick, breezeblock etc.)
3, What is the floor? (wood, concrete, carpet, rugs etc.)
4, What is the ceiling (suspended, beams, flat, cottage cheese etc.)
5, what furniture or other items will be in there? (a sofa, just studio equipment, storage boxes etc.)
6, is it a basement, ground floor, or upper floor?
7, Are there many windows?
Don't think about anything in terms of treatment until you answer these.
Making decisions on bass traps etc will do nothing for you until you have initial placement correct for your exact usage and limitations.
You certainly will not need to spend anything close to $500 let alone $1500. |

Give Waves a miss. There is stuff you can buy for $3k that make them look/sound a joke. |

Read last months computer music ;). He was screwing around. The sounds people wanted to recreate where actually mostly from a couple of new VSTi's from FXpansion which will be out soon :). |
