Well, there has to be a reference point. Event if Border Community's stuff is not techno in its purest form.

I'd still reference it all back to Progressive, simple melodies and changing basslines, based on the last material I heard like I Need Medicine and some of Tobar's stuff lol. Yeah definitley some experimental too though.

Haven't heard Hard Islands yet though.

As a big fan of "Drowning in a sea love", I've been lookin forward to this album for sometime.

Obviously its a different style so cant be compared to much with DIASOL but after listening to the sampler, I'm a little disappointed.

First 3 tracks are quite good, nothing spectacular and can verge on irritating at some of the more noisy parts.

Track 4 is short, cant really comment though melodically is it not just an extension of track 3?

Track 5 is okay, not that bothered.

Track 6, I hate the first 3 mins, too experimental noisey mayhem for me. But then when it goes all melodic, its the best section of the enitire sampler.

Overall, hit and miss, lets see what the other tracks are like witht the full release (there ae other tracks to come I take it?)

Oh an the poor file quality of the sampler doesnt do it any favours..

Why are people reviewing poor copies of the music?

The tunes are what they are, regardless of the file quality. I'm quite sure I'll enjoy listening to them more in full quality but I can still quite easily form an opinion on what I've downloaded

Anticipating....

How can you change your opinion once you've stated it!!? :eyes:

Listening to the YouTube clips i'm pretty surprised myself.

Turtle, I really like this pretty quirky and random at times with a couple moments I couldnt help laugh at. Basic Mountain, sounds good until those discordant pads when it gets a bit out of key and irritating, also reminds me of his older stuff a bit. Narrier, some interesting sounds but not enough shoegazer for me personally. Curfer, nice interlude :p .

Other two tracks arent up yet, kind of interested though.
