Like i said, add up your new taxes and send me a cheque for it. Id love to have it if you dont need it

I was wondering about the $4 meals. I knew 2 family owned restaurants that always split my bill on purpose so I won't have to pay the tax.

since the federal Conservatives have been pushing for harmonization for some time, to the point that they're helping make this budget more palatable with these silly exemptions, credits, etc...

is there going to be some hate directed towards the federal CPC? or is this strictly a provincial Liberals bashing thread? :)

(I'll happily bash McGuinty too, though there are some real benefits of harmonization, but let's recognize that the CPC has it's mucky hand in here too).

It is embedded in the cost as the manufacturer or service provider currently pays the PST on many of those items that are now being taxed.

The PST is being passed on to the consumer but removed at the corporate level. Net net the idea is that it works out the same, however I would expect businesses to keep a slice rather than pass it all on so you will pay more - however, in these times, businesses are the ones paying the bills and many of them in Ontario need all the help they can get right now.

I just read that $1000 is for families...and will be paid in 3 payments (330/335/335) June 2010, Dec 2010, Jun 2011

For single people making less than 80k...will receive $300

$300 is nothing lol

And to think, it only cost Mike Harris $200 a pop to buy his re-election. Typical Liberals raising spending like always :stongue:

there's also gonna be a tax on babies. you give birth and you pay a tax. then mcguinty eats it.

There should be a tax on having kids. I hate the fact that I have to pay an education tax when I don't have kids.....at least I should get the use of a kid on the weekends to cut my lawn and wash my car since I am paying for their education.

Consider it the cost to ensure that when we're old and in a walker, my uneducated son doesn't run over, kick it down, and feed on your helpless form like a feral animal :P

I firmly believe there should also be an automatic death sentence on your 70th birthday. Most people are nothing more then a drain on society after they reach 70 so it would be better if we were just thrown into the tar pits anyhow.
