Indeed. Ever since his re-election in 2007, this province has effectively been run like a dictatorship. Not one single ban, tax increase, or other ham-fisted government interference has even come with fair warning, much less consultation. Every time it's been this is what we're doing, we're doing it right now, and you guys figure out how to deal with it.
But, most Ontarians live in crappy rented downtown apartments, take the subway, read the positive spin from the Toronto Star, and carry on in ignorance voting for the same people who are hammering away at every freedom they still have and every measly dollar they earn.
Lately I've seriously been considering moving out west. I still think this is a good country to live in, but I'm not so sure about this particular province anymore. |

except we already have that... its called the catholic school board.

I completely understand the double-standard. But he'd have stood a better chance of winning the election if he'd promised to STOP funding the Catholic school system instead.
It was a horrible strategic error. All he had to do was say "Dalton McGuinty is a liar. I am honest and like Ontario really a lot." and he had the election won. |

Agreed; however, it would take a constitutional amendment to get us off the hook for funding the Catholic schools, which is why they continue to exist. |
