there was no readme file and no pop-ups (and it wasn't a zip either) - just the install thing and that's all :\ |

Where does it ask you to register? When I did mine, it installed no problem. Hit agree etc. But when I open it it comes with a big list of things I can do. The only one that will work is the "AVS Video Converter" and then it takes you to the screen I posted. If you click on the other ones, it says you have to buy them or something. Maybe that's what you're doing? It got me confused.
But then again it says if I register any of them, I get them all for free...so maybe I missed something and I was actually supposed to get all of them for free (maybe that's why I can't figure out how to download YouTube videos). |

it asked me to register when I started downloading a video and it popped up saying you will only download 20% of the video, unless you register, then a small window pops up asking for the reg. key :( |

How did you start downloading a video? I'm probably going to have the same problem I guess. I downloaded it the day it was free, but just tried installing it now. It appeared to work....but like I said I only have that one part, which doesn't seem to let me download videos. That's strange that we only got .exe files :( I was so excited about this too. |

it was actually pretty neat - when I copied the video's URL, immediately a window popped up ready to download it, I only needed to choose the directory to save it in.. too bad it's useless to me now :(
I tried other versions using download.com but same thing - register or buy option :( and the sad part is - I deleted my old program since I got this, didn't want to clutter up my system :( |

| All files from that site are zip files. Moving forward, download as a file first, then open it. It looks like your browsers are scripted to go right for the executable within the zip, and you miss out on it. |
