who cares how sound travels - I want to come into a club and hear the music, not bass rattling in my ears

Maybe the sound in guv is fine, but it's just your hearing that's not good?

:D

this tread is too funny.

Best sound system Toronto ever had was the aplha Dynacord in Boa.
Why because it was the right system and the right layout of a room for
acoustics.

worst sound system was when that same exat system went into Sudbury99.
Great soundsystem in a bad room. And not tuned.

It shows how much the room and the system need to work together.

Guv used to sound great back in the day but its not the same.

Its like an F1 car...its all about the machine and the controller.
they both need to be top notch adn work together.

As for now Cobra probably has the setup to have the best sound.
Smaller room and powerfull system...Just needs to be run by the right person.

Sound was amazing his most recent visit.

That's because his music is quiet.....

It's impossible for his sets to be too loud...

Well said. It was definitely the room that made Boa's sound what it was. It used to be a theatre, so it was built for accoustics.

The sound in that room was so lush, and you could distinctly feel the bass pounding through your chest and off he hair on your arms. Damn, do I miss the sound in that place.

Clearly, you don't know anything about sound. It's obvious that you have never heard a good sound system (Boa, Fabric, Stereo) in your entire life if you think the Guv's sound system is one of the best.

Just because the sound guy is your buddy, doesn't mean the sound at the Guv is good.

The sound system at the Guv is a disgrace IMO, and is long due for an serious upgrade (re: replacement).

i went to the old boa and it was the best sound i ever heard in TO. That being said stereo (before shorty left) shat on that and asked you to eat it:p

hopefully the new ((())) will be better.

even aria and the meyer shat on boa:p

the sound at fly is still tight sarah

hopefully circa survives...the place might not be "stumble proof" but i like any venue that offers you multiple rooms with different sounds and vibes..if you don't like a club don't go, but hoping it dies is just bad karma

Although I haven't been to many Toronto venues, I've always been pretty pleased with the sound / dynamics in the Guv main room - The last time I was there (on Valentine's day) there were some issues with the front speakers and booth monitors cutting out but outside of that.. Pretty good.
