the sound has been crappy since the reno's... at least KH still sounds fine
if anything, the best sound I've experienced in the city is at Footwork |

The drink has one of the best sounds in the city
I miss the good music being played there :( |

One of the best sound systems in the city, now that Boa is gone (RIP :( ) is fly nightclub - or it used to be anyways. I haven't been in ages, maybe it's changed with the new layout - but it used to be quite good.
But when I think about it, I haven't been anywhere in Toronto where the sound just wraps around you like a warm blanket - ie. Stereo. Boa was the closest. |

Clearly some of you know nothing about sound. Guv sound system is one of the best. Again, some of you don't realize this because you stand right in front of the stage.
Why do you think all the zombies stay in the middle of the dance floor, that's where you feel the true sound from the main speakers.
It all depends where you stand and where the speakers are located.
For example, at Vola if you are in the middle of the dancefloor then you are going to feel it, if you are in the VIP area it won't be the same.
Most clubs are designed this way. |

well in all honesty i haven't been to guv since markus schulz, or maybe van doorn, can't remember which party was last.
as for footwork having the best sound? HUH? unless the bass rattles every bone in my body you don't even qualify. I guess any club can have off nights or dj's that over work the system and if any system is going to get overworked its probly the guv. Still when its on, its warm and fuzzy, big and bassy and rattles every in bone.
zone always had respectable sound but still its small club sound. Guv has big club sound and i've always liked it but i'm not a regular so maybe haven't experienced the off nights. |

whatever man - it does not matter where you stand, I've been going to Guv long enough to say that yes, the sound sucks for the most part
the system is one of the best but the sound guy is not doing his job, IMO |

Maybe... but for me it doesnt matter where you are in footwork the sound is GOOD. Some places may be more bassy (the very front) and others more quiet - but everywhere the sound is good. '
At guv there have been multiple nights were some speakers are hardly working, where I have circled the room to only find one area that my ears dont bleed, and in many cases have had to run off to other rooms because its HORRIBLE
When main room sound is 'on' its amazing, but I can only think of a couple occassions where I didnt complain. |

I'm going to have to disagree, everything is great at Footwork except the placement of the Subs, I think. |

+1 on ears bleeding
I used to be absolutely fine without ear plugs, now by the time I've reached coat check, I'm dying, the bass levels are horrendous |

You can go to the Guv until your 40, it still obviously won't change your perception of understanding how sound waves travel in the Guv, the sound guy does a great job IMO lol
Sure there will be nights when there will be little issues, but I wouldn't say the Guv system sucks or it makes your ears bleed.
As Gera said, The Drink has an amazing sound system for its size. Also, the only times when I've complained about the Guv system is when standing bedind the speakers, but if you are in the middle it is absolutely amazing. |
