We wouldn't even need a good lawyer given that there is absolutely no way Will could prove a monetary loss as a result of anyone here duplicating his material... thus no damages; subsequently, no court would give him an award. |
While this is true, I was merely providing the overkill statement, for redundant redundancy...
in fact no lawyer would even bother to take his case before a judge, not even to charge ******** 400 bucks an hour just to push paper. |

He'll be taken down by police fire before the case reaches a courtroom... unless you own property in Canada he'd have to serve you in compliance with The Hauge Conference... that would take years... my guess is his fragile psyche can't hold out that long before the shooting spree happens. |

Through a review of marketing slogans we have learned that use of the letter "z" in place of an "s" at the end of a plural helps to give the product a more youth-friendly, contemporary, and/or hip image in the eyes of the covented 18-30 year-old white male demographic (also known as the "Xtreme" cohort). Given that much of the TranceAddict membership falls into this demographic it is not surprising that our focus group testing of the aforeposted comment concluded that use of the word "nutz" was received more favourably then the conventional "nuts." In order to ensure that our message received the desired attention from our target audience we here at Moral Hazard elected to abandon our general practice of superior diction in favour of the venacular of our audience. |

It would be different if he accepted some of the things we were saying. He IS a very intelligent man, but often it appears that his beliefs are way different from the norm, and he always argues for his case instead of accepting our criticisms. Unfortunately, a majority of us in this thread (myself included) have been lambasting him for his beliefs, because a lot of people (including the police) are worried about what happens if he snaps one day.
I don't wish to "stir the pot" anymore, simply because I'd rather just leave him alone. He doesn't want to change anything about his writing on his Biography, and as long as he doesn't hop up and start murdering people, I'm pretty sure everything will be okay, and he will live the normal, quiet life that he continues to live.
I'm sorry for insulting you or freaking out over some of the things you said, ********, I was just looking out for the safety of those around you, including Moral Hazard :tongue2
Take it easy, dude, you're a smart guy, just try to accept some of our advice with regards to how to handle authority and make sure you don't get improperly treated by them again. |

i disagree. since he is now allegedly up in longlac (see middle of nowhere), he is living in a social bomb disposal site. This place is an ideal locale for him to go postal in, limited collateral damage, isolated from major public centers, and no one gives a about longlac so any homicidal rampages will go relatively unnoticed by the press.
This is really the best case solution |

I would suggest you speak with a lawyer if you are uncertain of the law. I am aware that before you can use any person's copyrighted materials that you should request their permission to do so. While there are fair use type laws in some countries, I would suggest you look into the law of the originating country and your own in regard to this.
I have requested that information found on the original bio page that was in question, not be distributed, as I have been notified by the police, and others, that it may be of concern, or cause alarm, as such conveying that information, if it were applicable and true, would be a violation of law, in addition to copyright. As such I request that the information not be disiminitated, as to expand a potentially unresolved issue.
Kindly respect my wishes not to have the information disiminated without my permission. Although I have been informed someone has provided the materials, I have not verified them to be accurate or true. Anyone so conveyed the materials in this manner would you kindly contact me with a copy of what was sent to you so I can verify the validity and sender.
Transfer of the materials could be a breach of civil and criminal law. You have been warned.
Respectfully,
Will |
you posted in the public domain, and the material was not reproduced, copied, distributed for commercial gain. Your argument is moot. |

Actually, unless they profit from the duplication of the material or the owner of the copyright suffers a monetary loss as a result of the duplication then yes; they can. Additionally, since you state that your site is hosted in the UK you may wish to read the Copywrite, Designs and Patents Act 1988; which explicitly allows reproduction for the purposes of critisism (amongst many other uses).

Unless you have access restrictions on your site then yes; it is. Regardless of this, you posted a link to your site; subsequently, you invited us all to view your publicly posted rantings.

Indeed; however, as mentioned several times now; unless the party reproducing the copywrited material has profited or the owner of the copywrite has suffered a monetary loss then you have no recourse; moreover, see the Copywrite, Designs and Patents Act 1988.
Honestly, Will, you need some help. |
