This guy really is a loser. He would take people's money and pocket it and let them through the gate without the fare being deposited.

2 TTC ticket-takers accused of stealing fares

A TTC ticket-taker who earned $125,000 last year is one of two transit employees collected by cops for allegedly stealing fares.
Toronto Police told the Sun yesterday the two men were charged last week following an investigation by TTC special constables.
Station collector Kiran Sachdev, 56, of Toronto, is charged with four counts of failing to collect a fare and one charge of theft under $5,000. Anthony Alfano, 65, of Whitby, is charged with nine counts of failing to collect a fare and one count of theft under $5,000. Both men, who worked mostly at the Eglinton subway station, will be in College Park court Aug. 31.
Ontario's annual salary disclosure list of provincial and municipal civil servants who earn $100,000 or more shows Sachdev made $125,247.19 last year working for the TTC. Also known as the sunshine list, it shows he also made $2,089.33 in taxable benefits.
Toronto Police Const. Tony Vella said the investigation into the alleged theft of fares dates to last year.
Investigators alleged riders handing over money to get on the transit system were provided change but not the fare to drop in the pay box. The fare money was stolen, according to police.
TTC spokesman Danny Nicholson said the commission couldn't comment on the matter as it was before the courts. |

How the hell is a fare collector making 125 G a year?? WTF??????
Seriously... WTF??????
Some doctors make that much! Some pilots make a third of that!! Wow... no wonder toronto is the way it is..

Yes he does Chris...
There was a thread about this a while ago, sometime after the recent salary disclosure. They do make that much money, LEGALLY.
P.S. I'll say it again, these high-school drop-outs making this kind of money--bring in the ing machines. |

Don't be so sure about that... the union may be able to protect him (note; total speculation, I have never read the CBA for the TTC) |

you didn't hear about this guy a few months back?
i just find the total greed of this guy.
he works so much overtime to make that much money and then on top of that steals fares. and since he worked so much overtime, he got a greater chance of stealing more fares. lol. what a ing douche. |
