 lately all ( scary ) movies have no effect on me

The first time I saw Event Horizon (cimema, aged 17), I was on shrooms.

FEAR.
Audious
Lost Highway
Paradox Lost
The Mothman Prophecies.

I don't know precisely what it is about that movie that was so effectively frightening (I'll have to watch it again), but it was one of those rather subtle horror/thriller movies that manages to get to you.

That was the last time I found myself actually scared by a movie.
KilldaDJ
mr. vampire.

saw it when i was a child, scared for life now lol

i can still watch it now but it does creep me out a bit.

Martyrs.

Although not really scary, it leaves an impression on you in the form of a lifelong scar. As if someone had decided to embed a glowing red hot iron rod into your soul.

I saw "Drag Me to Hell" on Tuesday. It was the scariest movie I have seen in a long time. Normally, I don't find horror movies very scary because there is always an obvious build up to the "shock" event. Drag Me to Hell was nothing like that; you never knew when was going to happen. It was basically like watching 90 minutes of those YouTube videos where a scary face pops up out of nowhere, screaming.

French horror films are just ed up. I saw a movie called "Inside" a few months ago... A woman had a ing baby cut out of her with scissors. WTF? As you see the antagonist inserting the end of the scissors into the woman's naval, you think to yourself "the camera will turn away any second now and you'll just hear screams", but nope, that is not how the French roll.

Inside (À l'intérieur)! that movie was ed up! But I have to say, Martyrs affected me on a psychological level far more than Inside. Based on the simple fact that 3 days later Martyrs was still bugging me, Inside wasn't.

Joss Weatherby
The Day After and Threads.

The Blair Witch Project. yeah, i know. i don't know.
