This is difficult to put your finger on. I prefer Trance from the late 90s. I won't deny that nostalgia for those times is a deciding factor and I still like lots of modern Trance but it just sounded better back then.

Thanks to both of you, I realised vol. 3 was released on a different label (Eye Q America), so I guess that's why you're saying it's not part of the series. Do you recon any online store sells these as CD? I guess vinyl could work too, but I'm not to sure about getting it through discogs.

The differences in the releases are Cafe Del Mar getting removed and Wonderer getting replaced with a different remix, just reading from discogs.

Ah yeah, I forgot about the one on Eye Q US. Sven had completely abandoned trance by 1996, and I'd say that one is even less remarkable than Vol. 2. Still, some good tunes there too, particularly the B-Zet-tracks. You could say that the series got progressively worse with each installation, as trance in itself was going through the same decline in quality.

Anyway, I've ordered dozens of records from Discogs Marketplace and never had any problems what so ever. Just look at their seller feedback, and you'll be fine.

Because they've already done it and moved on, which doesn't mean he's innovating, he's just Peter Panning.

as back then too, i remember extremely well that i thought most music where absolute in 1996-98, and it wasnt before 99 and all the way today i found amazing tracks from the 90s, which was very hidden then.

I have listened to both pretty extensively and don't find anything wrong with either really...

Whats the deal? Put your finger on it, don't just say it used to be so much better back in the day...

Over production.

Back in the day it was simple, cheap and nasty... more raw sound in the tracks. Now its too crisp and formulaic.

Trance is the 'Pop' of electronic music.
It left the underground and independent scene some time ago, into labels and once you get into a music industry label it'll start conforming to what's popular to move sales.

Doesn't mean its 'all' bad, it just means it'll get kind of stagnant after awhile, the eagerness to innovate and evolve just isn't a factor with an existing commercial scene with certain expectations.
