couldn't agree more with this!
no matter how much downloading tunes can be a victimless crime this is wrong as..
and it's always by people who think they're top because they have releases before the general public... heard so many stories about it, and it's always the artist more than the label who suffers.. mate of mine had a big and ing awesome remix leaked by some and had the release cancelled cause the label got annoyed.. :(
sucks for everybody when that happens, and you're so right stephen being annoyed about it!! |

| in this day and age, you might as well consider the promo release the release date. Once you let one person have it, it will be leaked. |

| just send away the promos the same day its avaliable in shops. why should anyone get it earlier? oldschool thinking man. infact the djs should be looking for their music themselfs to keep up. only playing promos makes them bitches. |

Do you even know what the meaning of promo is? |

Piracy is a way of living now, the person doing it might only buy 2 or 3 albums a year anyway as they will see it differently. They will think why should i buy when i can get it free.
Yes it's wrong but if my music got out there because of it and more people where wanting to hear my music then that's a good thing.
They way to make money from that is you would have to start gigging.
To stop all this i say bring back vinyl, I do miss having to go and spend hours browsing through tons of tunes in your record store. |

| Promos are copies of tracks sent out before the official release for select DJs and music reviewers to play and discuss, to help build hype and anticipation around a track. Sending them out at the same time as the official release would be rather pointless for promotional purposes. |

| Doesn't bother me at all. It's just more exposure. If you are making music to make money in this industry then you are sadly mistaken with few exceptions. The money is in the gigs which comes from getting your name out which comes from enough exposure. Torrents are only helping things along IMO. |

when i get "there" i still dont think i would mind.
but thats then .
but at the moment with currently 0 tracks signed but hopefully changing soon...
i would be more than happy to get ppl to play my songs.
ive uploaded some of my old house songs and ive heard mates play it in clubs but not randoms hahaha
but i guess when i have several tracks signed i think it would be check to walk into a club and here your song playing whether they payed for it or not.
because of the internet SO many bedroom producers/djs have there tracks played... i think its a blessing in disguise...
ALTHOUGH if i was a producer who had to live just on money that i made from track sales i would prob feel different...
especially if i wasnt djing as producing would be my only income. |
