Agreed. I know a couple of good openers who would fit the bill perfectly (:)), S2 spicing things up, and a Redshape live pa. A few more recommendations:

- Carl Craig
- cv313
- Anthony Rother
- Kenny Larkin
- Chris Fortier
- Vince Watson
- Ben Klock
- Omar-S, Jus-Ed, Scott Grooves, Theo Parrish

ys i was at the roam party. dandy jack was tearing it up and sonja was doing great keeping pace. i've seen zabiela a over half dozen times and his peak was 2005-2006 with a steady decline from then on. his 1015 set a few months ago was without a doubt my least favorite. he still has mad mixing skills and will throw in a massive bomb of a track every once in a while, but his track selection as a whole has never been as good as back then. certainly not on the order of comparison with lee burridge.

still think junction sm was ok at that roam party. it has been my least favorite com# party. even the auralism party with locals was a thousand times better. i'll agree on the track selection compared to lee though but lee isn't as technical as zabs either. they're both in their own level which i meant and not the same which i think what you guys are originally thinking.

I think deep/dubby techno is the next hot thing. Tech House is played out.

you should have seen CHYMERA last Friday in his 1st LA appearance, honestly, he was the best LIVE set I've ever heard, and I've heard a few.

+1

Love his sound.

Alan, damn, are you serious? Ya, I've been missing out on a lot of good music!! Was the set at least recorded? I will come out of hiding soon! :)

Yes, please keep us posted about Jake & Nathan! :D

At this point, it seems like only Incognito is willing to book different dj's (other than typical mnml dj's).

yes, and everyone who was there basically agrees. Chymera was incomparable.

yep, thats why most of our DJs usually play for INCOGNITO in their "1st LA Appearance".

I do have to point out Julia, INCOGNITO is not constrained to a particular type of genre while other events are focused on a certain type of music only. So its not really apples to apples, so to speak.

Sample, we have Ekkohaus + Housewives(1st LA Appearance) on Dec 4, Ida Engberg(1st LA Appearance) on Dec 12 and Marshall Jefferson on Dec 18.

I don't pay attention to genre tags anymore, all I care about is seeing DJs who play good music, whatever tags someone else would like to apply are largely irrelevant to me.

Julia it sounds like you need to get out more, you're clearly missing a lot.

I've been to a string of great parties in the last few months and heard very little 'minimal' in any way, shape or form, in fact I don't even know who the hell is still playing minimal tech anymore since everything in that sub genre is pretty much as boring as piss these days.

Ewan Pearson is here December 11th and he will deliver in spades just like he did at the standard earlier this year. He plays pretty ing good music. Not sure if The Talking Heads falls under house...

Shaun Reeves dropped some heat at Animal Club's underground party downtown a few weeks ago, he doesn't play *insert genre name* he plays good music, whether that be house, techno, or whatever... with people who are wide ranging and truly great DJs the tags don't mean . He played equally amazing when opening for Matthew Dear @ Avalon the week before.

As Ryan said, Junction SM @ the last HEAR party was fantastic, great DJing by Sonja with Dandy's wonderful and bright live set going perfectly in between and over her records.

Clark Warner & I played lots of house @ Culprit's first TS2 party back on October 2nd.

Yeah, kinda stupid to be talking about how the scene in LA sucks when you have no clue.
