I'm with Telus and my plan is
- 500 MB data
- unlimited in/out texts (special given to me)
- 200 daytime mins (100 bonus minutes for me)
- unlimited incoming calls ($10 extra)
- 10 msg voicemail (usually $7 more)
- Caller ID, conference calling, call forwarding (usually $7 more)
all for $60 flat
telus now includes the service access fees in the base price itself so keep that in mind when comparing prices |
I'm impressed. That's a pretty good bang for the buck.
If I was to tailor that to my needs, it would be:
- 1 GB data
- unlimited in/out texts
- 300 daytime mins
- 100 in/out international minutes.
- unlimited incoming calls(within Canada)
- Voicemail with no msg limits
- Caller ID, conference calling, call forwarding, call waiting.
All for maybe $120? |

really 300 daytime would be pointless if you have unlimited incoming (unless you make more calls than you receive) since you have unlimited evenings and weekends anyway |

17.50 EPP Base Plan + 1$ to move free evenings to 5pm from 6pm + 50 free minutes + 1000 long distance minutes for $5 (customer relations can do this for you after 6 months) = $23.50
$30 Blackberry Value Pack (may be $35 now?) - $5 recurring credit = $25.00 |

I got with Solo when they had some wickedass student plans going on for a month... and though you were supposed to have to provide proof that ur enrolled in a school or university before u could be signed up for this plan, the guy who ran the Bell/Solo store in cwood was my old mngr, so he just marked down that I was a uni student even though i wasnt.
The data plan is just the regular deal i added on when got the berry, nothing special (indeed nothing as great as the limited time offers of 6GB for $30 that Rogers was offering temporarily for BlackBerry or iPhone users)
I barely use 100mbs a month, so 500 is WAY more than i need, so im golden with that. $25 for all the data I need (<500mb) isnt bad i dont think.
edit:
all solo's plans now (well, all 4 or 5 lol) are e.
nothing impressive at all anymore.
a coupe years ago though... they had the best plans going out there IMO. (i switched to them from rogers)
And ALL of them were available for your choice - 30 days or 1, 2, or 3 years - you choose. (not like Rogers were often their best plans were solely on a 3 yr contract only! :whip: )
So im not even on a contact... just pay month to month, can leave whenever i want (i hate contracts, so that for me is key) |
