honestly this is the worst thing about it.

i can't try any apps because i have no space. they just did the whole upgrade for my unit and i hoped that with this one they would allow apps to be stored on the expandable chip but no. is it really that hard? it's not even like i want all those garbage iPhone apps but some useful things would be good.

What's new in the Facebook App 1.7.0.22?

I want a better BB but I don't the gods want me to.

Like i've mentioned...they've addressed these issues for the new bb's.

Here's how much space I have:
File Free: 106,693,182 Bytes

Don't be jealous! :D

lets see....

- Opera Mini 5 Beta
- Google Maps
- Google Sync (might delete soon)
- ubertwitter
- BB App World
- BB Messenger 5
- Facebook App
- WeatherEye Touch (deleting it soon..kinda pointless)
- Memory Up Personal
- StormSlider Pro
- FlipSilent
- Quickpull

Additional Games:
- Guitar Hero World Tour (i was curious)
- Ferrari GT
- NFS Shift

13 MB free now....

problem is most of these apps cache within the same allotted app space so you must either remove the battery or run a RAM cleaning software to keep some space...

oh and i find actually closing apps after use gives more space too (for the same stupid reason of RAM being both space and cache too)

I'm going to try that with the app Mach X posted a couple pages ago.

Because the gods know how responsible you are with your phones. Next time don't blast it all over Facebook!

I do find the newest version of Quickpull works better than any I've ever used, though it sucks that it's necessary.

My apps:

BB App World
Facebook
BBLight - lights screen for SMS
BBSmart Alarms Pro - multiple alarms, quick alarms (paid)
BerryBuzz - different LEDs for each notification (paid)
BeWeather - sick weather app, not for Canada I don't think
CBS NFL Sports - for fantasy football
CNN - news
Miro theme - theme posted on previous page
Crackberry Launcher - launches CB mobile site
ESPN Mobile
Extralight - flashlight...my ditch it since Quickpull has one
Filescout - awesome file manager
Google Maps
Storm level
Opera Mini 5 Beta
Pandora
Patternlock lite - locks screen after x minutes, unlocks with pattern swipe
Quicklaunch - best app ever
Quickpull - battery pull app
Score Mobile - awesome sports score tracker
Screenlock - locks screen during calls
Slacker Radio
Urbanspoon
YouMail - visual voicemail
Youtube

suggestion:

replace patternlock and screenlock with stormslide....(its the same slider as the iphone/ipod touch)

and try using bookmarks on opera instead of apps for stuff that is available via sites....

should be able to free up quite a bit with that.
LKD
ok how do I download files via browser links? sounds like a stupid question I know...but I tried downloading a 6mb mp3 off my server and it said "file too big to download on device"

EDIT: fixed it...native browser wont download but opera wasn't downloading..i think the installation was conflicting with an older version i installed so many options weren't showing. now it even has a download manager after completely removing and reinstalling it.

just for those who dont check the first post updates, I just uploaded the TA group barcode for BBM here it is

I think that's good enough considering it has tabbed browsing...

using the BB as a modem on the laptop, this was the best result for speed:

that's what? 1/16th the speed? lol

You mean StormSlider? Are you using that? I'm kind of apprehensive about paying for apps if I'm not really into them. I know they're only a few $, but it's the principle...I've had a couple where the devs bounce after a few months with nowhere to be found, taking off with a few hundred and disappearing. Since most apps a PIN-specific, if you have to replace your phone (which I did), you can't get a new reg code and you're screwed. It's annoying to say the least, hence the principle.

As for the CNN/ESPN/CB launchers, they're only a couple KB, so they're minimal in that sense.

However, I've noticed with the new low app memory notifier that tells you to shut down apps, a couple are sky high. Like Slacker has been like 15MB in that list, even when it hadn't even been run since the last battery pull. What's up with that?
