This is really good - some real killer tracks in there and very little filler over two hours. Felt it really took off around 55 minutes, and it's very impressive how he kept the energy so high. I find it very tough to pull off transitions that keep the business end of tracks close together and yet are seamless and mess-free. J00F does it over and over again here.
Only complaint is the unnecessary Born Slippy remix. This mix doesn't need such an obvious crowd-pleaser moment: it smashes it all on its own. |

Wow.
This was an essential mix for sure. It's been a very very long time since I've actually heard a worthy mix from this show that's to be titled "essential." Not only that but something to reignite the spirit of trance. Hopefully his message will be heard by artists around.
Felt so good to hear a set in the genre that I used to love and care for so much.
Really good set. No complaints at all. |

It's one of those mixes where you can seek to any point and hear something interesting and packed with energy.
Better than his 2001 EM mix imho |

| That sounds like an edited version of Cherokee (RPO remix). |

From the tracklist: All Additional Production, John 00 Fleming.
This set is similar to the June GTG of the past year, where samples and additional sounds are added to the original tracks. For example the Jaia track remixed by Vibrasphere has some additional background bells and melodies from minute 48.30 on that are not part of the released version.
Btw almost all the tracks that appear on this set have been released in the last 12 months. This good stuff is still out there, you just have to dig deeper to find it. |

Funny, I searched for a few tracks on Beatport and didn't find any. Proof that Beatport don't have everything. |

Yeah there still are quite a few CD-only Psy/etc labels out there :( |

Same here. Any other good places to look?
On-topic: Been listening to this mix constantly since I heard it first time. |

Reminds me of Oakie's 1994 Goa Mix. Listening to this is surreal. I keep checking the date to remind myself that this recent :p
Superb, seemingly arcane track selection, tight mixing, & fluid energy that allows me the skip to any part of the set & enjoy it as much as the rest (mandatory for any set that remains on my hard drive). This one's a keeper.
The version I have is in VBR format, averaging out at 171 - which is fine but a bit muddier than I'd like. Any hopes I can get a higher quality rip? |
