And here's where the media spin comes in.
Let me throw some numbers at you.
In August 2007, of all child benefits claimants:
46% had 1 child (3.4 million families, 10.2 million people, 17% of the population)
38% had 2 children (2.9 million families, 11.6 million people, 19% of the population)
12% had 3 (900k families, 4.5 million people, 7% of the population)
3% had 4 (230k families, 1.4 million people, 3% of the population)
1% had 5 or more (80k families, 1 million people, 1.6% of the population)
Total population in 2007 was just under 61 million.
So roughly 48% of the population (including children) are linked to child benefits.
80% of the UK is of white ethnicity.
So even if EVERY non-British person in the country was receiving benefits, there would still be more white British getting them.
White, indigenous Brits make up the bulk of the benefits drain, but you don't see the DailyFail/BNP/etc highlighting that fact or looking to offer solutions. Oh no, it's just blame all the foreigners. |

it was awesome. i lived off the state and my parents and spent it on booze or weed or holidays etc. id regularly ring my flatmate at 2pm to say good morning and ask how the office had been that day.
apart from being poor the lifestyle was fantastic.
but, all great things must come to and end... |

not at all. picture this: you are a british man, of british decent, you've been working in a job or various jobs continuously since leaving school. recession hits england, the business you work for goes down the toilet, you lose your job. you cant find another job, so you cant pay your mortgage, you lose your house, and end up having to move into your parents place again. you apply for jobseekers allowance which is good for about £80 every 2 weeks [i.e good for nothing]. you cant keep up with the rest of your bills i.e phone bills, credit cards etc, so you get bank charges.. your bank charges give you more bank charges cos there isnt enough money in your bank to cover your bank charges. after a while your declared bankrupt/blacklisted, cant get any credit for 5 years. any progress in life is basically hopeless, jobs ed.
now picture this: asian woman, hailing from whatever country [iran or whatever] having a right old time in her country, decides to team up with a bunch of other down and outers from her country, and travel by any means necisary to get to england, as she knows she will almost definatly be guaranteed asylum, she will be put up in a nice housing unit until she can have a home of her own located to her. she has 2 kids, and dosnt know anyone, so thinks 'it, i aint gonna get a job'.. 'furthermore, i dont know anyone here who isnt iranian, so i wont bother learning english'. shes living the life of riley.. decent sturdy house.. with enough room for her 2 children. next couple of months.. fires a few more kids out, and then thinks.. 'hmm this house isnt big enough for my 4-5 children, i deserve a 5 bedroom house', so applies for one. Then she gets granted a larger house, because the government is too PC and scared of any backlash incase some super-paki accuses the government of not granting the woman the house because she is of ethnic orgins.
THIS is why people become racist, and THIS is why the BNP has formed, to try to enforce what [to be honest] a massive proporion of the UK is thinking. |
