I think we have a tendacy to always focus on who is NOT there rather than be blessed with what we have.

By the end of the summer, you will hear in Montreal Velvet, Wink, Misstress, Lawler, Liebing, Fanicuilli, Sasha, Timo Maas, Minilogue, Oxia, Ritch, Popof, Sanhaji, Bau, Howell (he will be at Stereo) and a bunch of the hardest working locals and DJs you haven't heard before....

I think it's pretty ing impressive and makes up for the list of people that are NOT there. You will probably be out of breath and missing 50% of those shows. Props to Piknic for not booking all the obvious names and bring some fresh names.

I wonder if this change in line-up format and the new alcohol policy has anything to do with Piknik's new-found affiliation with Bande à Part (re: government subsidies and thus influence on decision making).

no.
acronym
I know there aren't that many dubstep fans around here but the Mary Anne Hobbs/Lazer Sword/Roska day is massive. I'm very excited for that.

it's during Osheaga week-end ... so you'll need to pay 120$ to see that day :P
Brian Blanc

What, no Sven or Hawtin? :conf: :(

I am looking forward to Piknic though :)

That's the day that really stands out to me as well..

On the whole, not that impressed with the line up. I'm gonna go see Bassnectar on July 18. Definitely gonna see Popof too.

I also think the line up is backheavy, all the good sets seem to be in late august and september.. maybe that's just my liking.

Dj Nacht
lineup was sad at first but the more I look at it, the better it gets :D

quick question... why is Misstress a good thing?

Congrats to all the hard working locals, they deserve to be there and it's always very nice to be part of the Piknic adventure. Glad to see Mateo Murphy is also back in the spotlight.

If Green Velvet does a live act, you are in for a real treat. It was pure madness when he did it at Rm16 or 17 (don't remember)

I really don't see how you can yawn with bookings like that. You guys can be pretty jadded.

Plenty of locals, some very known names (velvet, misstress, wink), some new discoveries... some are just impossible to please.

the locals and a handful of djs are great....

not really complaining, i guess my expectations were a little higher thats all, esp compared to last year. like you said props to them for booking original djs, i was just hoping to see other djs preforming, preferably some that i've heard of before

that being said, sept looks like a tasty month
