When I was in California I was like damn, can you imagine having 50 millions people, perfect weather all around and a beach? And they don't have anything remotely close to Piknic. That's why Montreal rocks. ;-) |
Don't they have that event in the skyscraper on Sundays? In downtown LA? I've seen pics of that before it's a cool concept but still no Piknic! |

I think it's normal that you get more of the big bookings in august- september.
June and July had disastrous weather for years now. August and September are always gorgeous.
|
The real reason for this is because a lot of the big international headliners
block off those months to stay in Europe to play at all the key festivals. |

Yeah great news, and great job on piknic's part for giving in a little bit to make everyone happy. Up to 1.1 litres of beer allowed (3 cans) or 750ml of wine. |

From the Piknic site:
"This is why we’ve come up with a solution that reconciles the desires and freedom of Piknicers while preserving Piknic’s original spirit: we’re allowing people to bring their own alcohol, if accompanied by an actual picnic* – and chips are not a meal, as we all know! Outside alcohol will be strictly limited per person to 750ml of wine (one bottle) OR the equivalent of 1.1 litres of beers (3 small cans of 355ml or 2 tall cans of 500ml, etc). It is still prohibited to bring hard liquor.
We remind you that our initial point still holds: to distance ourselves, and the many peaceful Piknicers who show up every Sunday, from those who come merely for excess and confuse our events with Spring Break."
I was a little irked at all the people who automatically assumed greed was the main factor behind the decision. I think this new approach makes their motives clear. |

Wow, very smart move by Piknik organizers. I'm impressed by their ability to find a solution for a very difficult position. |
