Here's a tip - The Oblivion gates suck ass and you can just speed run through most of them. Just take off your clothes and run to the end. Once you finish the main quest, the game is better because they don't keep popping up everywhere and ruining the landscape. Boy it is a beautiful landscape though. Makes me wish you could play it co-op.

I played through the whole thing and honestly don't remember what they were up to or why they were so pissed off. Sephiroth in FF7 however was the ultimate badass.. He had epic strength and his reasons for wanting revenge on the world seemed pretty clear...and the unforgivable thing he did to "you know who" halfway through the game.. :whip: :( (don't spoil it for sushi) It's gotta make him the best video game villian of all time.

Sephiroth isn't all that impressive after Kefka. Kefka spooges his pants every time he wipes out a kingdom because he thinks it's fun, Seph's just a heartless, emotionless sociopath. Kefka is the REAL ultimate badass.

Or you could just avoid going through the main quest for as long as possible. I don't think the gates open up at all until you go through that business at Kvatch. When it plops you outside of the sewers, just go exploring and do as many side quests as possible. First seek the Dark Brotherhood and Grey Fox lines - those have excellent rewards and are basically the best quest lines I have ever been through in any game, period. :o

I thought Oblivion mods were fun, and some people swear by them to play the game at all, but I had hundreds of hours of fun in vanilla, so mods aren't entirely necessary, if you ask me.

//And yeah, co-op Oblivion would have been excellent. It almost seems like an MMO world where you're the only one playing, which is kind of cool and kind of lonely all at once. I'm sure it'll be a wankfest for pkc.

True...oblivion gates were the worst part of the game for me...loved everything else, but every time i had to venture into oblivion it was like...is it really worth it...

And there are some add ons that are somewhat worth the price...that astronomy tower or whatever it is (theres a huge garden inside which actually is a bit of a cheat since you can use the plants you gather there for some massive levelling up by doing alchemy) and this rather dark and gory vampire hideout...which was appropriate since i was playing the game as a cold blooded vampire assassin :D
EricB.
I just started doing something very ed up on battlefield. It tends to make other gamers and USA players very pissed off. You put C4 on the buggies and drive it into large groups of players and tanks and detonate them. people go flying and you will soon receive a billion messages telling you to go yourself you terroritst bastard
Fledz
Yea well it's counter intuitive for me to avoid the main quest straight away :p
Moongoose
I flew trough the main quest so that i could do the dark brotherhood quests, then forgot all about it and went on side quests and just exploring all the ruins and caves that were scaterred around the land :)

suiciding in video games is awesome. Because its usually a cheap kill, and it also kills you there is little recourse for people to say your are cheating. Its a really fun troll.

Also a good one is in HL2 deathmatch to get grenades and underhand it then switch back to the grav gun and pick it up again and rush someone in the face KABOOOM! :D

Tribes 1 had the best though with the Shifter Mod, the Suicide Detpack on the engineer class. Get a rocket launcher, a mortar, some mines, a suicide detpack.

Pop down a mine and use the rocket launcher to shoot it and fling yourself across the map. Land in the enemy base and try to get inside of it, activate the suicide detpack and the use your mortar (turned to cluster bomb mode) to fire randomly around killing people and also detonating the suicide detpack. Get that in there inventory area of a base with lots of people near the start of a match! Ohhh mega kills. I think I got like 20 kills in one go once. So fun!

Oh also in shifter one of the ultralight classes can have a scout pack where you can spawn into a scout flying craft at any point. Make that a favorite and then go out and kamikaze heavies in the face.

Oblivion is awesome...if u liked Divinity II I don't see why u wouldn't like Oblivion. I played it on the PS3 but never did the main quests. I'm re-rolling a warrior on the PC version which is much better, and I did the Kvatch right off the bat. It is one huge ing game to put it mildly, but fun. I like being able to attack and kill anyone, then take on the guards :stongue:

Agreed on the dark brotherhood quest line and Grey Fox. Grey Fox I liked the most, with a good twist at the end.

Nah, I need the mod to fix the levelling abortion (the only reason I never played the game at release). Stupid, awful, stupid & awful design decision.

Well, I doubt I’ll like the combat as much as divinity, first person melee doesn’t work quite as well, but yeah im looking forward to another huge, open-ended world where I can go where I want and rape and pillage whomever I like :)

Finished divinity last night, a lot of fans seem disappointed by the ending but I thought it was fantastic.
