| No real interests and nothing that you seriously want to pursue or accomplish, no destinations or dreams in mind. No passions, no strong feelings about much of anything. No subject or field or endeavor that holds your enthusiasm for longer than a few days. What do you do if your life feels not all that bad or good, but simply like a rather boring, mediocre, and pointless dead end? |

Goals are chosen, they do not simply appear out of the aether. Most people defer the choice and merely adopt goals that they perceive others to be pursuing. In the end, they are only living their lives in service of someone else's arbitrary value judgments, so their lives are nothing but an empty farce.
The alternatives are to assume responsibility for creating one's own goals in life, or to wallow in ennui. I do not mean to imply that the former is an easy path; it is probably the most difficult. |
