| My girlfriend takes care of the toilet/shower washing, washing the dishes etc. I take care of running around town paying bills and stuff. Clothes and garbage we take out together. |

I don't agree with that, man or woman. Doing housework all day, then doing more when your SO comes home isn't fair. Just because you're not getting paid doesn't mean it isn't work. Anything that goes on outside of the 9-5 should be shared. |
If you both work 9 to 5 or other shifts or one or both have part time jobs and are in school then after school, work it should be shared 50/50 because the work load you have outside of the house, apt. duplex etc.. is equally shared there as well |

I don't know any housewife that spends 8-10 hours a day doing housework. |

it's probably more a stress factor on them to do things right than the amount of hours they really put in it, but add a child to things then it's a whole new ballgame |

| We kind of share stuff with the majority of laundry and dishes falling to me and the majority of cooking falling on her. I insist doing the laundry and dishes because she does a pretty bad job at them :p Sometimes there's still stuff on the dishes as they're sitting on the rack dying, I dunno if she's just not paying attention or is genuinely bad at doing them. Same with laundry, she never puts dryer sheets in the dryer and I NEED them with my clothes. I can't stand the feeling of dried clothes without a dryer sheet, they feel all scratchy and weird. |

Yeah well, I'll probably make more money than you, and you'd have to do all the housework. ;) |
Only if you work as a prostitute.

Ok dishes: washing or drying?
I prefer washing...cause if you dry them you also have to put them away. |

| Because eli works 40 hrs a week i do most of the housework and looking after the kid/s. Eli takes out the garbage and does the recycling and in return i do all the laundry, cooking, cleaning, dusting, bathroom cleaning, floor cleaning, dusting, etc... if rowan wakes up in the middle of the night puking i deal with it and let eli sleep because he goes to work in the morning. I think it is only fair seeing as i signed up for that end of the responsibilities. Eli has been really good about helping me lift things or extra stuff seeing as i am 8 months pregnant, he even cooks once and a while but we don't argue about who does what. I keep my house pretty clean and our kid in order so he doesn't have much to complain about. It wasn't always like that, it took a while to figure out a routine but we've had 6 years now to do that... |
