It seems like the people you refer to are the ones that thinks the poppy vocal cocksmokery that aramada spews out is good trance, and if anyone s on it they go defcon 5 and scorched ing earth over it. You fail to realize this forum was built for people who enjoys trance the way it was, not the way it is now. We are the ones sharing this forum with you. off if you can't handle the truth about the abomination that is called trance these days.

That's the problem here; you guys look at Armada and think trance ends there. In reality Armada doesn't have . Yes I buy tracks from them but I don't even have them on my Beatport labels list. I DO have 15 or so really good labels who are all about the music; not banning people from playing their own tracks in their radio sets, etc. I hate Armada just as much as the rest of you but please stop being an idiot and acting like Armada IS trance. Couldn't be further from the truth.

Also you're wrong. This forum was made for trance. PAST, PRESENT, & FUTURE. Just because your personal tastes don't like the new stuff doesn't mean it degrades the music or the artists in other peoples eyes. Post your favorite trance track from the days you used to listen to it. Everything I have listened to over the years and studied to get a feel for the history of trance is hardly even listenable because of the technological advances. There is tons of out there; even some of my labels I follow can put out a good amount of bad .

What you're failing to realize is that the problem isn't in the music but the distribution. It's cheap as hell and there's no negative to selling something considered slightly lesser by the consumers. If even a few people buy it the labels look at it as a good investment because labels aren't paying artists advances anymore and obviously it's ten times cheaper (if not more) then distributing vinyl. Therefore even if it sells 5 units they will pick it up. Most labels are run like pure these days and don't understand that less is more. But your beef is pointed at the wrong entity. If you're upset be upset at the labels but lots of great producers are still out there making great tracks. It's just not as easy to find them because the market has been watered down.

Yeah, creativity. This is bull on so many different levels.

You're claiming with this statement that music in the 90's was more creative than now? Please post an example to back up your statement. It would be pretty much impossible for that to hold true strictly because of the technological advancements over the last 15 years.

I don't care if this is off topic, that post was just to much.

Feel free to dissent but it's proven. Music will never leave and it will always continue to evolve. Get on with the times. It's not like I don't understand your point. I miss old school rap and hip hop. I rarely find good new stuff these days but that doesn't mean I'm sitting here slandering all of the current artists putting out the new stuff. Back then talented artists actually made a good amount of money. Unfortunately I don't think you understand the current economic climate in the industry or you'd loosen up on some of these views/statements.

The basic problem with all music in the present day is that there is little money to be made. The people who are top notch artists have to go elsewhere because they have to make a living too. On top of that; most of the people who have the supreme talent have for brains when it comes to the business side of things. Obviously the people/labels you equate with trance are just the ones running most fluid as a business; it's nothing more and nothing less. It is what it is. Bitch about it or do something to change it and make it better.

Again, why would Swamper chose someone that's trying to get people to stay off this site, than someone who is encouraging people to join it?

I never said stay off the site. I just said they shouldn't involve themselves in threads such as these that they have no reason to post in.

Btw quality over quantity any day of the week imo! Which is why I'm glad we recently got the mods here; they have all done a great job not only keeping the spam to a minimum but keeping people and conversations in check!

Yeah he is; Anjunabeats may be a worse example than Armada to be honest.

I was trying to watch this thread from the sidelines, because I think it's hilarious, but I feel the need to jump in here and clarify something really quick...

What is your point? I already alluded to that fact several times earlier. Also; to clarify, I was referring to the forums as a whole when I made those statements...not one area or another.

So what do you like? I like most of Anjunabeats, that doesn't mean it stops there... I like Infrasonic, Enhanced, Discover, Monster Tunes, Euphonic, Vandit, Afterglow and all of that stuff too ?
It's not like my mixes are Anjunabeats CD's -.-

The only good trance music was produced between 1992 and 2000 and very rarely was any of that good trance produced outside of England.

?

Context sir. The forums are made to be SHARED between a vast array of styles and genres. Have no problem with that. In fact I encourage it. If people listen to one type of music and they produce their work will usually be boring and typical, not edgy and creative. Trance and all other sub genres are all part of EDM. Support is supposed to go both ways. You don't stab your neighbor in the back and then expect them to pull you out of a fire.

I don't mind Anjuna; have picked up several tracks from there over the last few years but for the large part they are known to "outsiders" to be extremely commercial and forumulaic. I don't necessarily disagree but i'm not an expert.

I'm personally more of a supporter of artists than labels but there are a good amount of good ones out there. You just have to follow the trail the artists leave you.
