Have you seen Ed Schultz and Keith Olbermann? Just wondering. The (far) Left isn't complaining now because their man is in the white heezy. Same thing. Although, I will disagree with one thing in particular- both Rush and Beck were incredibly critical of Bush's overreach in the last couple of years of his presidency. I'm not even remotely a Beck fan, but I tuned in to his radio show many times in 2008 during campaign season to see wtf he was yammering about, and he was as strongly against Bush and McCain's philosophy as he was against Obama's. |
Actually, the left is critical of Obama because he isn't doing enough! Not enough stimulus, upsurge in Afghanistan, watered down healthcare, non-support of gay marriage, etc. |

This is the latest false notion being repeated ad nauseum: "they aren't far left, they just appear that way because the country has tacked so far right". Olbermann is VERY far left politically. The man with the most liberal voting record in the Senate would not have been elected president if the country was rabidly to the right. but the pendulum is obviously swinging back that way as hoards of people run scared from liberal policies being shoved down their throats. |
do you even understand what 'far left' is? obama's center-left, hence why the left has been so critical of him. olberman is regular left. the fact that he's 'ranked' most liberal merely demonstrates the political shift. like i said, nixon, eisenhower and teddy roosevelt would be democrats today. |

that's correct. they speak for the fringe elements who unfortunately have the power in Washington right now. "centrist" democrats (who are more rare than unicorns these days) bow down to Obama/Reid/Peliso's radical agenda, or have their testicles collectively lopped off. |
:stongue: :stongue:
The democrats currently in power are practically republicans. We've watered down every ing progressive bill that has come forward because of you s. The universal healthcare we got is a joke, a shadow of what it could have been thanks to the obstructionists in the senate. What we DO have are a bunch of democrats who have no idea how to pass anything due to a right wing noise machine that is scaring half the populace into submission. The biggest left wing majority in YEARS can barely get anything done.
But hey, it's working great. Beck is raking in millions and scaring the out of everyone, you've got a sizable amount of the country who thinks Obama is a muslim, anyone who dares come out in favor of a muslim cultural center in NYC might as well just send money to Osama Bin Laden...the list could go on.
8 ing years we put up with you s running everything INTO THE GROUND. By ALL accounts, our current president inherited the biggest ing mess of his GENERATION. And here he is trying to sort through this ing bull and even pass any smidgen of the CHANGE the electorate asked for and the right, with the backing of its biggest s and billionaires is going to successfully convince most of America this guy is a radical muslim socialist murderer who is coming to pull the plug on grandma. Well done gents. Disinform away!
It ing makes me sick. |

The difference between George W Bush and Obama, is BALLS.
GWB had the balls to come in as president, (and the political capital afforded him by the gift of 9/11/01) and say " everyone else we are doing what WE want."
There was no ing compromise. There were no checks and balances. His agenda was served straight up.
WE DEBATED HEALTHCARE LONGER THAN WE DEBATED GOING TO WAR IN IRAQ.
That says something about how ed this country is. |

Personally, I think, in taking the tack he and the Democrats have taken, they've demonstrated just how unreasonable and intransigent the Republicans actually are. Unfortunately, instead of using that as evidence for taking a more hard nosed approach, they have decided that the quarrelsome idiocy is merely grounds for more passivity and "compromise". |

+6 hunnit billion
Come on, Kevin, is it not obvious that the GOP has simultaneously injected fear and hatred into the American populous for the past 10 years? The democrats in our congress are absolutely spineless because of the party you swear by, and you wonder why is ed? |

| This country is delusional on a scale I find few precedents for in our history, and Glenn Beck is hell bent on keeping that party going as long as possible. |

1920's Yellow Journalism and 1950's McCarthyism come easily to mind. |

That's a hell of a statement, Clove-dog. If anyone isn't compromising, it's the Democrats the past 20 months. The very definition of 'no checks and balances' is going on right now. It is the biggest myth EVER that the GOP has been able to control or stop anything. Are you kidding me? Majorities in the House, Senate, Congress, a Democrat President, and Democrat Speaker of the House. Dude what are you smoking? What more do you need? "Yeah sure we'll accept Republican proposals/ideas into the bills"... meanwhile in the real world, Republicans get physically locked out of meetings discussing what goes in the bills. Bush had plenty of Democrats voting with him on several issues, including going into Iraq. Hell, Bush even tried to push for ing amnesty in 2007! The only bipartisanship has been in resistance- that should tell you something. The public rejects all of Obama's big ticket items. ALL of them! But he soldiers on, forcing 2000+ page bills through, knowing this. THAT is unchecked one party rule that makes Bush look like a piker in comparison. I can't believe you just wrote the above statement. You're a smart dude but this is crazy man. :wtf:
And about the health care bill, I don't get why liberals are so upset. You'll get what you want if you're patient... what's in place now will lead to single-payer, BY DESIGN. Just because it wasn't instituted in 48 hours doesn't mean you have to fly off the handle screaming "obstructionist!" Insurance companies are folding like lawn chairs already, and in a few years there will be no other alternatives. I don't get liberal anger right now at all. You got the most powerful Democrat majority in all phases of government since FDR, and you're still not happy. I guess seeing all the theoretical utopian dreams falling apart now that full-bore Democrat policies are actually being applied, thus leading to a major electoral backlash in 2 months is disheartening? No need to project that anger on those of us who just want to be left alone to grow and prosper without Big Brother breathing down our necks. |

Spineless? Last time I checked, pretty much ALL of them voted for every piece of economically destructive legislation that's been passed since Jan. 09. |
