only one of the goals auld let in sucked. we didn't win, because we suck and finally whatever miracle that was going on to keep up us high in the standings is over.
Hopefully by next week
kostistyn for a bag of pucks
pouliot for a bag of pucks
gomez for anything
the rest of the team will be fine....if the phoenix rumours are true i'll be a happy man...but i think the only trade anyone would make for gomez is rick dipietro. |

auld sucked jay... if price was in nets it wouldve been 4-2
price is better on the glove hand which means kessels goals wouldnt have happened
i have no ing clue what jack martin was thinking putting auld in nets... TO is climbing in the standings and u put in our backup goalie? HELLLOOO?????? |

ummm did you actually watch the same game? last time i checked perfect top corner shots are not bad goals, they are good shots...plus add the fact that no one was playing defense.
anyone who blames auld, needs to learn more about hockey. Guess what, chances are that Price would have let those ones in too.
Auld sucks, but lets not throw him under the bus, hockey is a team sport, and like we have seen so many times lately, some people on this team have their hearts elsewhere.
I still hope Gauthier makes no moves other than to maybe get something for the players we have no intention of keeping next year.
the second goal was al auld, i'll give you that. a nhl level goalie pokes that puck away instead of backing up into the net and giving the shooter more room...then again, kessel just walked in front of the net with no one on him.
1 win in the last 6...robocoach still devoid of all emotion. |

agreed that the D didnt show up (esp w those 2 kessel goals)
our d is our biggest weakness right now, hopefully sopel helps |

Sopel will help...his shot blocking will make up for Georges being gone.
Our d is really really slow though, and everyone is a right handed shot. We need a forward playing the point on the pp to make up for this. It is why it is struggling so much, and you can see it.
Sure last night they scored on the PP, but let's be real here, the leafs have horrible special teams and a nervous goalie.
Special teams are the key to any success here, we are the 2nd most penalized team in the league. It is hilarious considering half of our players could play elves for mall santas. |

I liked Sopel when he played for Van. A few reports I read about this trade didn't touch on fact that he can also play the point well too.
At one point he scored 25 goals over three consecutive seasons, not bad for dman. |

let's not kid here, he is here to block shots and clear the front of the net. He is here to take PK and Webber off of the penalty kill and to make them play less minutes. If he does this well and doesn't score a point in a Hab uniform, this trade will be a success. He is another D man that shoots from the right...aka the Habs curse.
We just need him to eat minutes, finish a check, block a shot, and be a plus player. Everything else would be cake.
That being said, epic lol:

| Habs are so soft, everyone is injured, no way we can compete in the playoffs this year imo. Hope they don't sacrifice too many prospects for rental players... |
