Physios are QUITE different in their methods. For example, the "crack crack" method is a rarely used one. This is (apparently) because "cracking" something back into place can cause an awful lot of problems with the surrounding muscles.
I mentioned earlier that my mum had taken me to a Chiro a few times when I was younger. Most sessions were ok, I don't remember any real difference, but whatever. The LAST time I went the Chiro (and I stress 'last' because it will be the last) I got "cracked around" and then wasn't able to stand up straight for the next 4 days. I had to take time off school (during exams) and was in a LOT of pain in my lower back, even while lying down.
My mum atributed this to be some kind of "necessary spiritual release" or some such :rolleyes: The chick just tweaked my back the wrong way, and I couldn't ing walk.

Thank the ing universe for those crystals.
My mum keeps crystals in every room of her house. Different crystals for different purposes, you know? And you have to 'cleanse' them every once in a while too. Otherwise, they don't do their ing job properly.

Mine used to smoke it to offset some of the symptoms of MS and kept offering on the basis that I was entirely too uptight and serious a 19 year old

hahahaha. no wonder you're a tree hugger though. with that upbringing, that's as conservative as you were likely to get!
mum's not quite that bad but she entertains some ing bull ideas. i remember we had a big fight when she brought up the topic of reiki healing a while back. she's a ing nurse ffs :conf: :mad:

Yeah, . My mum has paid, probably, 5 ing figures out on reiki "treatment" over the years. No idea if it was the Grandmothers Stone version. Wouldn't ing surprise me though.
She's still a hippy muppet, nothing seems to be changing that. The moon's gravitational pull must not be quite right for her Capricorn rising/falling/whatever :rolleyes: |

The implication that nurses should only accept one kind of healing. Our job isn't to push specific interventions onto people, our job is to facilitate wellness however each person defines it. That requires being, at the very least, accepting of alternate forms of healing.
Your mom's a ing nurse - exactly. She SHOULD embrace "crap" like reiki - because if she encounters patients who feel it provides them with quality of life, it's your mom's job to help them with that. :p |
