What do you mean sound goes thru air from your monitor to you? the problem is not the direct signal going from the monitors to your ears but all the various room modes and reflections from your desk, from the ceiling, from your fat girlfriend standing in the back about to tell you to clean the dishes. that causes all sorts of nasties. Of course if she stood in the corner, one less bass trap.

Actually, that's why fish tanks in studios are a complete ing pain.
A marine fish tank, even a mid size one will set you back $10,000 all said and done, let alone trying to design an acoustic fish tank.
the bug tank idea. I can see some rocker coming in for a session all coked up from the night before tapping the glass a bit too string to get a rise out of the brasilian bird eating spider and ending breaking the glass by tapping too hard. I just hope I will rememebr to leave one of the channels recording as I run for the door and lock them in with their newly liberated friends.
@tehlord - that's kind of the beauty of it. It's completely modular, so buy one now and another in 6 months and another 6 months after that. I would stick with the MR816 as it's totally usable and IMO mic quality is more important than pre quality so if you only have money for one then it would be best to go get a good mic.

No because it remains constant through the whole spectrum meaning it (all) would just reach you faster.

Make sure to make a sample pack! :)

actually a wall ceiling and floor of complete plasma or something with some sort of sound treatment so you can have like virtual settings of your studio. That would be sick. Ask your client if they want to mix on the beach or perhaps in a choral reef under the water. And when they leave , you can change it to a space setting and pretend you are flying a spaceship.

Yeah I've only got a Solaris and SM57 so far, although both are serving me well. Mic GAS is for later on next year when the room is sorted but i'll almost certainly pick up another couple.

slower.
one point for the composer. I mean mexican air is obviously going to run slower. Its a cultural thing. I kid. But you are mistaken. Less particles means slower transmission. I'm sure you just goofed as you are probably watching some gay show like Ice Truck Drivers.
