A promoter could have a number of reasons to make something like that up. Rochester rarely ever gets any notable EDM artists to play here, so when an event like this is advertised so widely for so long, it's a pretty big disappointment when one of the two non-local and well known artists just don't show up.
Besides, when you're in the public eye like Deko-ze is, and you miss a show, I'd think you would be expected to give a reason.
As far as I can tell, the purpose of the thread was to find the real reason why he didn't show up, not to spread gossip, so off. |
I'm not saying you don't have a right to be disappointed, but it sounds like you're mostly after a refund for your cover charge, no? That'd be the promoter's responsibility. I'm sure Deko-Ze did give an answer to someone for missing his show and it was then the promoter that was supposed to inform the guests. |

Look dude. As was said before, DJs often times have problems crossing the border because the laws are tight and retarded...
He wanted to go. He tried to go. He wasn't able to go...
You wanna see him so bad, maybe you could come up here...
I can tell you this. The 5 year thing is incorrect...
I won't give any more info cause it's not really my place to do so. I said it was no big deal and that's that..
If you want more, try and contact him directly... |
I'm going to ask you some questions, and I want them answered immediately.
WHO IS YOUR DADDY AND WHAT DOES HE DO?!? |

He had unpaid parking tickets in NYC from the 90s.
OR
He was discovered to be the ringleader behind a massive smuggling operation where planes were used to fly the goods straight from Juarez and drop them off in the middle of Lake Ontario to then be picked up by his contracted scuba divers using GPS location technology.

| Good one LiveTime. It must be hard having to go to google images every time you want to say something but can't think of anything funny yourself. |

Yes my ability to express myself verbally is just beyond my mental capacity.
Apparently your ability to move on with your life and let punitive things go is one in the same. |

I have seen him numerous times in Toronto. I'm a big fan of the sets he has played when I've seen him, which is why I was so disappointed with the no-show.
Is it really that much of an ordeal crossing the border from Canada to the US if you're not an American citizen? I've crossed at least a dozen times and have never really been hassled going into Canada. I don't see how being a DJ has anything to do with having a harder time gaining access to a country through its border. |

Hahaha clearly you know nothing about crossing the border into the U.S. Yes, it IS a big deal crossing the border into the U.S., especially if you're not an American citizen and I suspect even more so when you're a DJ. The customs officer likely doesn't know who this DJ is and will be suspicious as to why he would travel so much (however, Dekozee doesn't travel too much to my knowledge and plays predominantly in Ontario). Either way, the border guards can stop you and hold you just because.
I can speak from experience, as I cross the border on a daily basis. I've even been asked, "Do you know what rights you have at the border? NONE." And, "What time is class?" "1/2 an hour" "Why didn't you leave earlier, b/c you know we can pull you in at any time and search your car and you'll be late for class. And with that, here is your sticker, please pull over while we search your car."
Edit - One time, I was even going to a club in the States and the guards held us for 2 hours before letting us go. That was really fun. They do it just b/c they can. So it's very possible that Dekozee was held at the border and released with no problem, possibly even denied entry that night for whatever reason.
The fact of the matter is, you have your answer - he had problems at the border. The rest is not really any of your business. If you're looking for a refund, talk to the promoter. And if you want a personal apology, TOTA is not where you're going to get it. |

The ability to let things go that are intended to or are inflicting punishment? Apparently if it's no big deal, then there is no punishment being inflicted. Are you, then, supposing that I am intending to punish Deko-ze by asking what prevented him from attending the show in Rochester? Surely a few people knowing what should be public knowledge anyways isn't exactly punishment.
I'm guessing you just don't know what punitive means, and that's okay. If you are primarily a francophone as your nationality may suggest, I understand not having such a firm grasp on the English language. Regardless, if your intention is to insult me, please use the correct verbiage in the future. |
