Hahaha clearly you know nothing about crossing the border into the U.S. Yes, it IS a big deal crossing the border into the U.S., especially if you're not an American citizen and I suspect even more so when you're a DJ. The customs officer likely doesn't know who this DJ is and will be suspicious as to why he would travel so much (however, Dekozee doesn't travel too much to my knowledge and plays predominantly in Ontario). Either way, the border guards can stop you and hold you just because.
I can speak from experience, as I cross the border on a daily basis. I've even been asked, "Do you know what rights you have at the border? NONE." And, "What time is class?" "1/2 an hour" "Why didn't you leave earlier, b/c you know we can pull you in at any time and search your car and you'll be late for class. And with that, here is your sticker, please pull over while we search your car."
Edit - One time, I was even going to a club in the States and the guards held us for 2 hours before letting us go. That was really fun. They do it just b/c they can. So it's very possible that Dekozee was held at the border and released with no problem, possibly even denied entry that night for whatever reason.
The fact of the matter is, you have your answer - he had problems at the border. The rest is not really any of your business. If you're looking for a refund, talk to the promoter. |
I admit the only crossing of the border I have done from Canada to the US is as an American citizen, and I did not know it was so different from the treatment I have received on the Canadian side going in.
I guess Americans do earn their reputation sometimes :( |

lol at Sarah giving you the exact same advice, yet you tell her to off. You sound like a real winner. |
Are you really that dim that you can't recognize such blatant sarcasm? |

Yes my ability to express myself verbally is just beyond my mental capacity.
Apparently your ability to move on with your life and let punitive things go is one in the same. |
hahah!

Are you really that much of a a douche? How old are you? You have to be over 21 obviously, but your attitude and immaturity make you seem like a pathetic 15 year old.
Especially when you actually WOULD get a better response and explanation from Dekozee himself, rather than asking people on a Toronto EDM site. Anything that would be said here would be rumors, gossip or hearsay, seeing as Dekozee himself does not pot. |

The ability to let things go that are intended to or are inflicting punishment? Apparently if it's no big deal, then there is no punishment being inflicted. Are you, then, supposing that I am intending to punish Deko-ze by asking what prevented him from attending the show in Rochester? Surely a few people knowing what should be public knowledge anyways isn't exactly punishment.
I'm guessing you just don't know what punitive means, and that's okay. If you are primarily a francophone as your nationality may suggest, I understand not having such a firm grasp on the English language. Regardless, if your intention is to insult me, please use the correct verbiage in the future. |
Don't to carried away there you ignorant American. However congratulations for actually recognizing a flag other than your own. You must certainly stand out there in that country of yours. I'm from Toronto, no francophone by any stretch. However knowing another language is something of a valuable asset to most people outside the armpit of America of which you live in. Keep your thoughts about where people live in to yourself. Your country isn't exactly to well thought of my any means.
As per punishing him, no. The fact that this thread got started and is going to likely turn into something that is far from the truth is where we all are coming from here...
Work permits to go to USA can be the main deterrent for letting people into the country, even if it is for just 1 night to spin at a club. Many people on this board know of DJ's having the same problem. This is likely what happened to him, but like the rest of the people said, go and email him. He talks to people on this board all the time. |

| There is a "Profile" button under every one of my posts if you're really interested in how old I am. Just please be careful not to get any tears on your computer. Electrocution is no joke. |

I'd like you to show me where I said anything negative about Canada whatsoever. In fact, I noted that I never received any poor treatment by the Canadian border patrol on my way in, so if anything I posted a positive thought about where you live.
It is funny however, that I said nothing negative whatsoever about your country, and almost half of your last post was pure vitriol directed towards America. As they say, and the manner in which I express this should be right up your mental capacity's alley,

Are you being serious right now? Understanding that someone who primarily speaks one language and not another is simply acknowledging the fact that most people who speak a second language do not speak it or understand it quite as well as their primary language.
In addition, pointing out the fact that many Canadians are French-speakers (and would be more likely to be when they have a French flag on their profile) is not insulting Canada or France in any way, so I really don't know what point you're trying to make. If you're implying that I was suggesting that all French-speaking Canadians are as dumb as you are, or are as inept at even adequately using the English language as you are, I assure you I was not. |
