I guess I don't venture outside the Producer and Promo forums enough. |
You're still 20X more up to date on music technology than I am. Don't change a thing. We each play our small part, here. ;) |

Well, the cracks were definitely evident, like in that three-minute video of him trying to speak to some obscure concept of a greater awareness. Of course, the "Spiritual Nate" name is priceless. It's like he's trying to start that cult he'll be taking America by storm with. I'm almost left wondering if he's not deliberately trying to humiliate his poor mother.

Oh, I'm sure he'll be back, if he's just not on his way to beat up a server-farm in Michigan. It's just a depressive cycle, or he was using old ether which became volatile when his profuse sweat fell into it, or he's having a conversation with his mother, up in her room, about what to do with the nude woman's body, cut 27 times, in the bath-tub. |

| I thought his higher state of consciousness was awesome. For me, a higher state of consciousness would be 1 kilo of afghan heroin, a pound of columbian cocaine, 3 escorts that have been paid a year in advance for 1 month so I actually think they are in to me. All this happening in that submarine bond used at the end of The Spy that Loved me. Oh and Palm serving us champagne and snacks. |

See, I'm still missing on how higher awareness brings us to his having set out to humiliate his mother. I definitely see how expenses are driven up with your method and connect that to his own requirement for money but, if you ask me, there's far cheaper ways to socially denude your own mom. And the submarine - way too private, unless there's some plan involving an HD camera and an upload of .mp4 video in Vladivostok.
I'm thinking of keeping the heroin in the picture but picking up a prostitute to parade through an upscale super-market. It's a little more perverse, but if there's a medical emergency, there's definitely a safety net. |

That's a pretty elaborate back-ground for a troll. I mean, I've thought of pulling the same , but not nearly the scale of internet real-estate to back it up and definitely without threats of baseball bats to the knees. |
Three words: Bobby West Virginia. You cannot be buying into this guy. He was trolling before anyone had even replied, he hasn't responded like any real amateur producer would at any point, and he couldn't go into parodic Internet mode quick enough. |

Just not sure about that - the physics of trolling dictate that it should be least amount of energy put in to create as a large a possible response. So one or two ambiguous sentences that bait several pages of flame induced rant is the goal.
In this case, if he were trolling, he creating a full maternal online history, as well as youtube channel, not to mention the hours spent making that quite terrible music.
The only person you troll in that instance is yourself because you've spent so much more energy than could ever be recouped.
This aside, he's really not that good at it - there's little to no subtlety, no suspension of disbelief, little ambiguity or even slightly cultured flame baiting.
There is one other scenario though - that the alt has ripped off someone else's identity namely that nate guy, then masquerades as him to stir the pot. unfortunately, as stated above, it's a lame attempt.
Oh, and he didn't bring either hitler or or the holocaust in to the discussion.
It may well be BWV, but it's still not great trolling by any means. |

You Yanks fascinate me. I keep reading out like this to people I know.
It's like Dirty Harry on toadstools - "hey guard, any chance a changing this spoon, this one looks like it's bin stickin in someones ass" - that's what first alerted me to American prose. Can't get enough if this |

| I'm no potty mouth. I even made reference to a Roger More Bond film. And i'm 1/2 irish 1/4 Spanish and 1/4 Russian ( as I just found out last week).I always assumed the last quarter was canadian as we don't talk about them but then I find out they were all wiped out by the Russian Gulag system and then Franco's regime. Still tho, dictators kick ass. first generation Canadian here. |
