Come on. I've had more people threaten to beat me up over the Internet than I can possibly count. Frankly, I count that as further evidence the guy is playing it up, because making hollow threats of physical violence is too far into clichéd Internet Tough Guy behaviour to possibly take seriously. |

(@EZ)Thanks man and I'm not trying to make excuses for my behavoir but it is genuinely near impossible at times to be nonreactive and its something I have to live with. It also doesn't happen frequently anymore in my daily life and for the most part only comes out on this forum due to all the egos I have to deal with along with the general lack of communication and ease of misinterpretation online.
But I largely agree he's not a troll, and the way he talks of himself wreaks erily similar to how I use to think myself when I was 20-21. Its like cryo said really about self esteem and meth is a very handy way of tricking yourself into thinking your much more important than you really are. Sure this is not really new knowledge for anyone but I almost feel bad for the guy more than I'm angry at his behavoir. Originally I wanted to come in here just to push his buttons but once I read the thread I saw how grossly out of touch with reality he is.
I also never got talking the way he does from pot, I got like that from speed and speed alone. It only took a few years off it untill I was able to talk quicker (w/out it) and formulate coherent thoughts again. But his consciousness skit is all over the place. Like he knows he can say something interesting but just can't get it out his ing mouth, thats definitely meth imo. |

Yeh but its not cliche because it doesn't happen often.
Its cliche as a result that it is common, which again supports the nontroll hypothesis. Just because you don't take him seriously doesn't mean he doesn't take himself seriously.
All I'm saying is trolls are usually a bit more contrived and calculated in their approach. They are also less reactive and more likely not to threaten you by pm as a true troll knows not to take people seriously. Once you do that you lose your troll upperhand. |

There was that famous Pirate969 double-murder hoax by a couple of the members. It was a bit of an epic troll, but easily discernible as hoax material.

I definitely see the signs of trolling here, but I'm also seeing correlations with legitimate insanity and being on the receiving end of a threat, however many you've had, I prefer to err on the side of cautious investigation. I'm not ruling in either direction - troll or something to be concerned with.

Booze did the same talking-in-circles with my head. Once I quit, I could barely utter a complete sentence, let alone speak in any organized fashion. You see and hear a lot of it in AA meetings that aren't very structured. Just people that want to be saying something important, and feeling it, and it winds up being completely circular logic out their ass that ultimately just reveals how ed their head is.
I don't know if you saw Southland, the week before this last episode, but there was a cop who did a spot-on portrayal of some of the really manic "pink cloud" loopy bull I've (and perhaps you've) seen. |

The fact is that everyone who's posting on this page (or so) is guilty of trolling in one or more TA forums. :p
Betrayals (be it of confidences or in general), death threats, along with suicide advice, adds a somewhat sadistic and sinister dimension to trolling. |
