Its a free country you said it. And regardless whether somoene is in the military or not doesn't make their point more valid, especially when you are trying to compare two regions which are completely different.
But yeah i'm speaking to an uneducated moron here who doesn't know the difference between A and B, but surprisingly is able to distinguish between A and A.
