| Not really. Every bad thing Walt does is on purpose. He has no remorse and chooses everything he does carefully. I'd call that a lot more evil than a stupid kid making stupid kid mistakes, often under situations of extreme emptional distress. Maybe if you swear more it'll get your point across better. |

| most of his carefully chosen evils are necessary because of the kids stupid mistakes though. and I'm not sure I buy the no remorse thing, Walt just knows that at the level they're playing there really is no room for crying and doing stupid like Jesse does |

You could argue that all those "cold calculated decisions" are made to protect his family. I mean, he became "evil" to ensure his family would be taken care when he died. Since the first time he started cooking until now, he's had to do things to make sure that would happen.
With that said, is he really evil or is he just a scared dude wanting the best for his family when he's dead and gone? |

| He's really evil. He could've made more than enough to take care of them a long time ago. His only motivation became greed as soon as he killed Gus. |

| He said in the show that "he's in the empire business." He craved power and control. It only started as wanting to provide for his family. Once he got a taste of money and power he completely changed, and just went further and further into the quasi-sociopath that he is now. He's really only motivated by self-preservation at this point. I think he'd probably leave his family behind if he had to in order to protect himself. It even seems like that's what he's going to do according to the flash forward at the beginning of one of the episodes this season. |

Walt shows remorse all the time. He is not heartless. He does what he needs to do to protect himself, for sure, but he is not without guilt about it.

It's partially greed, but it's largely ego, born of feeling so powerless for so long. He is a genius, and should have gotten some of that Grey Matter (I think it was called?) money a long time ago, but went on to be the most overqualified chemistry teacher ever. Vince Gilligan himself cited the moment he turned down the help for his medical bills from his former business partners for no other reason than pride as the point where he turned evil.
