's pretty hectic, I'm glad I live in a quiet part of London.

Friends of mine had to evacuate their flat with their baby though as the camera shop on the ground floor got looted and set ablaze :(

Ironically (though not really, since you probably think Jesus is the answer, you damn idiot), I was trying to make small-talk with the new guy at work today, and he told me it was clearly because the youth were all atheists.

I didn't quite know how to respond so tried to change the subject :(

Bollocks they are! There have been plenty of riots in the US in which Christians (and no Christians alike) have wreaked havoc for one reason or another. Same in the UK: these rioters are mostly Christian, or so they claim. If you push him far enough, you'll find out that, to him, rioters are not Christian (even if the rioters themselves identify as such) because "a true Christian would never do that". Which is, of course, as accurate as saying that all atheists are tolerant, kind, and science loving hippies.

Why is the police so soft on them. Tear gas their ass and pressure wash them out. What is the police doing with sticks too?

Isn't this pretty standard for the UK every few decades?

Yeah, pretty much!

Still, at least some people have enough passion to be genuinely pissed off with the state, most developed countries just bend over and take whatever the politicians and cops ram up their bum.

(Though I highly doubt there's a specific reason for the current riot, but definitely a lot of genuine social reasons for it)

lol the indian cricket fans want their team to leave the country for 'safety' reasons. Not the fact they're 2-0 down in a 4 match series and close to officially losing the number 1 ranking to us. They probably forgot the armed guards we were forced to have in their backyard :o
