Don't compare what Tiesto would earn at at Tiesto in Concert. 99.999% of DJs can't approach that high of a fee, SHM included.

Now I could see that type of earnings for Armin at AO @ MM.

Shm is 250+ and they have declined offers of 250k here in Vegas from a rather large establishment

From what I know is that they are going Miami and Vegas back to back like last year. Only difference was the Las Vegas venue.

IMO the Swedes collectively no question cost more to book than Armin, regardless of the venue as long...

and based on what i've seen from their parties the last 12 months, in certain selective cities (Vegas, Miami) they can get similar $ as Tiesto.

However Tiesto makes mad $$$ touring everywhere including middle-america cities.... places where the SHM guys I suspect don't have nearly the same following and wouldn't make sense to play.

I remember hearing that when Angello played i think Seattle earlier this year there were just a few hundred people there on a weeknight...

one thing i respect about AvB is that his booking fee is "fair" and when I say fair I mean cheaper then Tiesto and SHM :)

Most events that Armin play seem to have reasonable door cover charges. I think he has an understanding that in this business, the fans come first. Make them happy and they will make you happy.

But then again... I could be completely wrong.

fyi... He does cost a lot when he does Armin Only

You actually are completely wrong. But that's not really your fault. It's the promoters that set the ticket prices for events. Granted, if they are paying the DJ less, they can usually charge less money for tickets... but in Canada (at least Vancouver and Edmonton) I know for a fact that Armin's shows cost just as much to get into as Tiesto. Which happens to be $100+ in Vancouver and $60+ in Edmonton.

When a promoter books an act that will undoubtedly sell out the venue, they tend to charge as much as possible for tickets. In 09/10 I paid $100ish to see Tiesto in Vancouver and only $37 for the same show in Seattle, ticket prices are in no way indicative of the DJ's fee.

i've seen booking request paperwork from agencies and they specifically ask how many people fit in the venue and what the projected cover charge will be... and then they tailor a dj fee to fit those parameters.

I remember when Indie 103.1 brought Armin to The Factory on a Sunday for a Halloween event. That party was EMPTY!!! Literally, 100 people were too many!
